When you are in places like Tabu, atleast my connections made sure I never paid .. and they had more money than me ..
AS for safety ? Dont worry - almost every other person in such a place had a bodyguard or two outside .. and you have to be careful that the bodyguards don't break you nose for any wrong move .. forget about getting mugged
So far - never taunted my fate, but a few Ang Mohs were trying to get in and they were rejected entry into Icon .. when I was waiting for my friend to park her car .. Never figured it out, but later another friend said "not all White men don't know how to behave .. they should be heading to Angeles (actually the word they use for AC is as Pampanga) ..
And trust me - few of the big spenders in such clubs are INDIANS - those amazingly super rich who live in Philippines .. no kidding ..
I saw a crowd of decent indian guys, arrived in Escalades with atleast two escorts .. God knows what they are doing for a living but they seemed well protected ....
While I am more comfy in cheaper places, sometimes, Duty calls - like some of my connected friends, when they invite me - how to say now ?? I have to rush out to get the hotel laundry to quickly iron my clothes and sometimes curse myself for not bringing a jacket, and more often - run to the mall to pick up new clothing and the crowd can spot a cheap dresser miles away .. But - no sir, I ain't loaded to be permenantly in such company ....
PS: I think we drifted from maids to Manila ..
