Is it true that we should not give large amounts of money e.g. S$2000 - S$4000 as gifts to the Vietnamese fiancee that we are matchmade with while in Vietnam; before signing at the Singapore ROM? An Indian man, Singapore citizen did that and his Vietnamese fiancee suddenly had a change of mind. She broke off coming to Singapore to marry him. The Indian man said he will not claim the money back from her but he was taking it as a lesson.
