The price of property in vietnam is definitely not sustainable. The interest rate in Vietnam is close to 24% per annum. Work out to be 2% per month. If you planning to buy a decent apartment it will set you back 300k usd. Interest alone per month is 6000 usd. I have many friends renting very high class apartments around usd 1500-2500 usd. So every month you are losing close to 3500 usd on interest alone. This does not include the monthly service fee and electricity bill which is also included in the rental. deptrai is correct in his assessment.
