In case you are wondering, my course of study was accounting, a course where fellow accountants would know that there are always more gals than guys.
Ok, back to the story, during the period of the course, i grew closer to Eve since she is always sitting beside me, sharing/borrowing notes with me etc... However, 1 thing always baffles me is that everytime after our class ended, she always said she need to rush off in a hurry and is not able to walk together to the train station together with me which i consider strange as she stay in Bedok and i stay in Tampines at that time... However, i never try to really pursue the matter since i always looked at her more as a friend.
Time flew by and 6 months quickly passed and it was at this time when i finish the course that i got employed by a local CPA (Certified Public Accountant) firm as an audit assistant. It was a very small set-up, with a partner and 2 staffs (including me). During my very first day in the firm, i was told that the course which i had just graduated from is not sufficient and hence, i need to go for further upgrades again. It was at this time, i decide to call Eve again...
I: Hi, how are you? Did u manage to find a job? Any further plan to upgrade?
Eve: Fine, not yet. Any recommendation?
I: Yeah, i just joined a small CPA firm, but it only got 2 staffs (including me).
Eve: So small firm? then must do everything lor?
I: Yeah, including wash toilet.
Eve: Really ah? Then the pay must be not bad lor?
I: No lar, joking. But the pay is pathetic, but no choice, i got no experience.
Eve: Yeah, anyway, i intend to go for further upgrades for my studies, u interested?
I: Yeah, my boss also told me so lor, i need to upgrade, current level is not sufficient.
Hence, we made arrangements to register for the upgrading course together, this is also to ensure that if one party is not able to make it in time for the class, another person can copy the notes too...
