Police probe allegations of taxi overcharge in Hanoi

Police in Hanoi are hunting down a taxi driver alleged of overcharging two Singaporeans who were attending the Interpol’s General Assembly meeting in the city, VnExpress reported on November 2.
According to the newswire, Chen Ang Dani and Than Sha Pen took a Phu Gia Co. taxi from a restaurant in Hoan Kiem District to the Vietnam National Convention Center in Tu Liem District, which is approximately 10 kilometers away.
However, the driver, whose identity has not yet been revealed, charged the passengers US$200, the newswire said.
VnExpress also said the driver didn’t return the iPhone that the foreigners forgot in the taxi.
