yes, you are right to certain extend. When these Viet Spouse (VS) goes back, they will have a long list of REQUESTS from their family members in VN. Shampoo, electrical stuffs etc, when they come back, they bring their favourite food. But no matter how they miss viet food, they got to consider how much they can bring when they are also carrying baby.
