There are still loopholes in Sinkapor. The bloodsucking lawyer can backdate the separation date. For approval of the divorce application, you don't have to attend any hearing. The lawyer will let you know the date to attend the court. If there's no objections from both parties to the claims then u only need to attend the family court once. After the judgement about 3 months and u will get the papers.

For those cases where one spouse cannot be located, it's most troublesome and need to wait 7 years. Happened to a friend who married a Sabah girl who disappeared.

It's best to negotiate any claims or alimony whatsoever before going to court as this will cut down on the costs and time.
