IMHO, these cultural shocks are similar in most all countries with a big disparity in social class, super rich in cities & desperate poors from farms. Thai WLs think the same too; no plans, parent's awareness & encouragement or even arrangement, jobless BF/hubby who are handsome and feed on their earnings, etc. As much as they shocked us, we shocked them with the revelation of the better world out there, thus we often hearsay WL steoreotyping & don't like their own countrymen.
