Regarding the exchange rate i know its better to change at Batam.
I usually change mine at HaiHai and their rates are terrible.

I found a new joint behind BCS mall, beside the ayam pengyat restaurant on the first floor near the OCBC ATM.

Dunno my rate for IDR good or not... 7250 for 1SGD while others are offering 7230.
Oh, if you are going by Batam Centre, the rate at the basement of the Batam Mega Mall will be better than those at the 1st floor and significantly better than those at the ferry terminal.

Hope this week rate will be better. ^_^
But if any laojiaos got lobang for better rate don't mind sharing hehe....
