Well the actual fact is TICKET price never change much. It was 18.50 if you buy from Batam agent's counters. But some years ago when the crude oil price went sky high, the operators started "fuel surcharge", and the Batam ferry terminals introduced a $3 "tax". Now the surcharge is $20, and Batam seaport tax is $7, so if you buy your return tickets from Batam you can still save a few dollars, good enuff for frequent Batam travellers, extra 1 pack of ciggi.
