Zalo was created by the Vietnamese for the Vietnamese. Wechat is a Chinese creation from China - basically the Vietnamese buay song to use a Chinese product.

Same as why China buay song to use Facebook, must create their own, called QQ. Then China buay song to use Whatsapp, must create their own, called Wechat.
