Hmmm, hi all. my first time going hcmc this coming 29jun - 22 jul. Going with a viet girl that i know here. but got feeling she's going to aeroplane me or scam me, so i prepared to jalan alone there.

Read that D1 near the ben thanh market is reccommend for newbies. Since i staying for ard 3wks, would there be any girlfriendly hostel/hotel which discounts good for such "long" period? Dont wish to spend more than S$300 on accomodation..

Also interested in those bbbj cafes/pubs, and love to try my luck with waitresses working in decent restaurants/eateries. Any such cafes/pubs/restos nearby? I think most of the time I would spending walking around, viewing hcmc. knowing new friends etc (however my spoken.written viet is 0.) if my viet girl aeroplanes me.

If possible, will appreciate any seniors wouldn't mind to meet up to show me around. I see this clones battle, i dont know who to pm or contact maybe except TS. Pardon me for these noob questions. I am excited to visit hcmc but other hand quite worried about scams and personal safety... Thanks for any help offered.
