I just got to know this viet girl during my last trip there early july. She can type simple english but she cannot speak english/chinese. so when we meet, it's mostly typing in the hp to communicate.
She wants to learn english and I'm trying to learn viet now.
Anyway, I have already plan my next trip to hcm in end july to get to know her better...

But she put effort to learn english and chinese and i put effort to learn viet. Now we can communicate better. We always find ways to make known to each other what we are thinking and want to let the other party know.
You can try learn viet language... its a fun thing.
