Lesson learnt from this 1st trip in HCM.

1. Do not order taxi from those company in airport, i believe a metered taxi would cost maybe 150k dongs at max. as compared to 25USD which is about 500k dongs....
2. Do not order taxi from hotel either.
3. Do not trust eating place recommended by receptionist, all the recommendations sucks and is expensive, the only good place i ate at is the place we found ourself and just decided to give it a try.
4. DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT WALK ALONE IN THE NIGHT ALONG THE STREET. sorry for the caps, but we were really quite shaken after that because the ladyboy is seriously rough, and with that pretty face its hard to just whack her like that. But if you really happen to encounter this, Please take care of your belongings because upon coming back to Msia, my friend told me he had exactly the same experience, except that he actually got pickpocketed.
5. HCM is not really a place to shop, or maybe it was just me, i didn't find anything interesting enough for me to spend money buying, except for the coffee.
6. Do not go with girls if wanna chiong.
7. The Duyen Dang girl told me to always check the bill at clubs as they tend to put in extras to newbies like me. So please check your bill and make sure that its billed correctly. Because i myself noticed that in the menu the macallen is 2.9m, but when the bill came i think i saw 3.2m.
8. Mixers cost a BOMB in HCM, each can of mixer is 100k dong, which is unheard of in msia, sorry for my noobness. So becareful of how you mix.
9. Go into a tourist club, and expect to be chopped like a tourist. The total wasn't too much for us, almost same like in msia, but in HCM, we expected it to be cheaper, But then good experience also for us and the girls.
10. Do not get a girl from the motorcycle pimp. From experience and what i read, they usualyl do not have good service.
11. Do not overtip, even at the asking price tip i already felt its expensive... but i'm always soft hearted towards girl...especially pity pretty girl (really gotta learn to control this urge to help them)
12. After reading from alot of forums this time, realize that places like Duyen Dang can go for experience, but dun think can expect very fun thing to happen.

I hope the above give some insight for some newbie solo traveller to HCM and how to avoid being stupid like me.

This time around I'm going again on 1st of Aug - 4th of Aug, and sincerely hope that there's some senior who can bring me around to live like a local... i always prefer this way.
