Re: Life as a Limo Driver

The working life of a limo driver is not as glamorous as many people think. As mentioned before we work long hours, and waiting time is a killer. The actual driving hours per day does not exceed One and a half hours . The waiting time or so call standby time can range from 6 hours and above depending on assignment.

There are times when we get to ferry " Super Star" we could easy clock up to 36 hours without heading back home. Because of the profile of our regular clientele, limo drivers then to be of a more mature age group. Depending on the type of car you are driving, driving experience does come into play. Our actions are constantly being monitor by our bosses, the wAy we speak, the way we carry ourselves ... Yes all this minor details are being watched. Most of the time we work solo, it is just you and the client Therefore Honestly is very important , our boss will not question us on what we do on our standby time.

Clients confidentially is very very Important if a limo driver wants to work long in this industry. If you leak out juicy details abt a client, I can guarantee you will be out of job very soon.

Protocol is another area a limo driver needs to be well versed at. Who gets to seat where , with who in the car, which VIP should arrived first and who to leave first. The vehicle is not only a mode of transport, is also " safe house" for the VIP. In times of emergency, we must know the fastest route out and we need to know all departure route out of the country be it land , air or sea. Thankfully in Singapore, we seldom have state of emergency.
