General Queries

If one goes to DSC and then diagnosed with STDs, does this means DSC will inform MOH and put you in their list of STD carrier? Is it better to go to private clinic or family GP you want confidentialiy?

Re: General Queries

yes they will keep your record.
in the old days.. they usually will keep it for abt 5 years
nowadays with the proliferation use of IT..
your record will be kept for who knows how long..
and going to the GP isn't going to help much
if you want confidentiality visit those GP that does anonymous testing

and ffs.. what is confidentialiy ???

Totally agreed. Recently I had been receiving unsolicited e-mails from Health Promotion Board (HPB) on info on Herpes. I have no transaction with HPB or DSC before. I also do not have herpes. I suspect when I click on a HPB thread on herpes info, somehow they capture my e-mail or IP-address. Otherwise, how they know?

Re: General Queries

I think in Singapore medical industry, therein no total privacy. Doctors are required to report HIVs positive patients.

My brother's girlfriend is a nurse.I remember she even told me that once your result is positive. No matter which clinic will send your report and detail to MOH.
