According to local media reports, Desmond Hua Chung Fook, 28, who was originally accused of causing grievous hurt, pleaded guilty to slapping and punching Darryl Oi Weijian, 24, several times on his face and body, causing him to fall and suffer serious injuries.

The incident occurred on July 2, 2009 at the stairway along a block of flats near Toa Payoh Central.

A district court was told that Hua’s wife, Ms Zhang Huiqing, 29, went drinking with her friends, including Mr Oi, who was an ex-colleague, at St James Power Station the night before.

When Mr Oi, who freelances in the finance industry, took Ms Zhang home, he suggested to smoke at the staircase landing outside her house and she agreed to join him. They then became intimate.

However, the pair were spotted by Hua, who happened to be out for a smoke at that time.

A cat and mouse chase followed thereafter, before Hua managed to strike the victim on his left cheek. In the midst of the scuffle, Mr Oi fell down a flight of steps.

He managed to pick himself up and head for the lift lobby where he was again assaulted by Hua. As they tussled, Oi was knocked against the railings after he was pushed by Hua. The victim was admitted to hospital and lost his memory for 32 days.

Hua could have been jailed for up to three months and/or fined for causing hurt on grave and sudden provocation.

I did come upon this article on the web today and felt that for once, sg courts at least practise a bit of understanding and fined the man instead of jailing him for the assualt which came to quite bad injuries. Normally when you cause injuries to that extent, jail time is definite, so glad in a way that the husband got spared jail.

This is the second case, the other 1 was btw a smaller guy, and a burly man both were armed like warriors. However common thing, the man which tackle the other wive tried to run away.

Back at older days, the village will held matches for the 2men to settle it. Today, the attacker had to be punished, but this is a different time. What should be done, just shouted at both of them.

Chinese saying, Dog man and woman. Spit at them, he had every rights, let the neighbour knows. He is not the 1 who is wrong.

I know of such a man, he was smarter then this 2, he waited after the seperation. Then, he walk into her life, swept her off her feets. The couple had 2 children.
