Comparision between H81 & Frangrance Hotel

Hi bro,

I believe all bros here have many experiences going hotel for short and overnight stay. Would like to find out do you have any bad experiences from the hotel? How do all brothers here grade between H81 & frangrAnce as compare to standard of service vs price.

I have an bad experience with H81. Have an transit booking during an night. Happily after want to check out. The reception say I have exceed 20 mins. I did take note the timing when I check in and sure the time did not exceed 20 mins. SO i tell the recep that I did not exceed much see whether can lower the charges. They insisit me to pay an hour rate with is $15. I ask why this is not mentioned when check in and they say it is understood. I told them this is your house rule how do we know. And why no call up when exceed time? I say there is too much to pay just exceed a while. I propose to pay $10. But they denied to accept and say no barganing. I mean I have stay hotel around the world and the rate can be negiotiate if they want to. I was pissed off and say I do not want to pay if they insist to collect the $15. I request to have an receipt on my stay in but they refused to give me. Cos I want to study the T&C. They do not want to give me. So I fedup and just left the hotel. This is my experiences.

Any brother would like to feeedback any similar experiences and what will happen on such actions? Any comments. And do you think such transit hotel is blood sucking on the overtime charges?

Bro,

My two cents worth of advice, just pay and go. One buddy of mine had the same problem with the H81 at balestier. He bang on their counter and left.

Guess what happened ?

His mailbox was occasionally flooded with Hotel 81 recognition/discounts for regular member !!!! His wife almost divorce him !!!!!

Just a thought.

Bro,

I think when you go to such hotels because it is budget hotel and for short time. So:
1) Why not pay the additional $15 and stay til the additional time is up (to have your $ worth)?;
2) Pay up and leave (do not use that Hotel in future); or
3) Pay up and leave (in future ask them to give you a call 10mins b4 time).

I think such hotels should be for convenience and we should not let convenience turn to trouble.

I believe if the issue can be solved by $, then it should not be a problem. However, if it progress till $ cannot solve, then it will become too troublesome. So it is better to solve it at minor stage. Of course, that depends on how big you view $15.

Hotel81, doesn't send discount/vouchers/promotion etc to client, coz they don't have such man-power n they can't be bother to. (Have friends working in H81)

As for those that never paid up as told (over-timed) will be blacklisted and will require to pay the "owed amount" upon the next visit or else, no booking is allow (read somewhere in the forum last time)

Different between Hotel 81 and Fragrance Hotel.
Hotel81 Checked in
Give IC, Sign a blue paper, take key, go (swift in 1 min)
Standard normal Key with card attached for activating the room facilities.

Fragrance Checked in
Give IC, wait for them to key details in computer, print paper, sign paper
Card Key for activating the room facilities.

Hi all bruddles,

Thanks fo rall comments and advice. I understand all this from. However, it is not matter of the $15. It about the fairness of the penalty they are imposing. As a consumer rights, I think they cannot charges based on their asumption. Yes, they can make us pay, But what is the role of the hotel as providing good services for unhappy customer? Take note they are in hospitality industry. So what is the ethnic?

I assume this is about civil issues. So will it end up in police case.. ha..

wahahaa....that cunning.........what a underhand scam. U mean only his unit get all this voucher? How his wife find out?

As compare, what do all bru here think. Which one will be better for money. I prepare frangrance as i feel most of the room are bigger? Agree?

H81 rooms are better maintained imho. The bed is made up with better sheets. Fragrance only cover the bed loosely with a very thin bed sheet (this tends to move). Room wise, both are similar in size. As for the overtime charges, either ask the recep desk to provide wake up call 10 mins b4 or set your hp alarm. Haven't the the overnight service yet (but if going for overnight at 81 might as well go to their sister chain valuehotel)

me prefer the furniture and layout of H81...
but service wise...both oso farked up...
but me only using for 2hrs...so why bother...

Hey ... you know the rates at the H81 in Joo Chiat nowadays?

Also, I was charged only $20 at Bugis 81 ... instead of the usual $30. Did they reduce their rates ala recession?

Not like that la... first time you go there, you show NRIC, you pay $30. Next time you show same NRIC again, its $20.
