Hey fellow folks, I've been following this forum for quite some time now to just to read stories that the forum which very impressive and I finally decide to register account to contribute a story of my own which is 70% reality and 30% fiction. Because its my first time writing a story please pardon my english and I try to be detailed on the interesting parts. And here it goes.

Lets call myself .. Jack

Well, its quite sometime back in 2011 when I worked full time as a bartender in one of the pubs in the town area while waiting for my tertiary education to commence. Life was just pretty boring for me, no girls, no life, just work to experience what is it like to work in nightlife of Singapore.

Chapter 2

After countless nights of working together with Kimberly, we began messaging each other almost everyday except when we’re working and we get to know each other better.

Just one fine afternoon she messaged me.

K: Hey Jack, when is your off day? (:
Me: Thursday. Why?
K: I am performing with my dance group. Come and watch okay?!
Me: Erm, sure why not?
K: YAY! (: I will let you know detail soon! Oh and I won’t be working until my performance is over! See you then my boy!

My boy? Seriously? What does it mean? Am I reading too much? Or was it just an expression that she used in any guy?

Nevertheless I didn’t pay much attention to that and carried on to continue my stuff.

Work was pretty much boring without Kimberly around talking jokes and playing around with me during work. And just when WenHui came and tap behind my back which startled me for a while.

WH: Eh why you look so moody and sian? Kimberly not around you sad right?

Me: Huh? No la, nothing to do. Weekdays also no customer. Just sian lo.

WH: Admit it la. I know you have something for Kim. Always break time hang around with her. You’re like her next BFF.

Me: You jealous is it?

WH: For what? Anyway don’t say I never warned you. She is not that simple. I may be her good friend but sometimes I don’t really stand what she is doing.

Me: What do you mean by that?

WH: You’ll see.

And then she walked away leaving me in suspense.

At the same time, Kimberly messaged me.

K: I am bored :[ miss me?

Me: Hmmm… a bit.

K: :[!!!

Me: Then do you miss me?

K: Hmmmm…. Maybe?

We messaged like we haven’t seen each other for a very long time in a very lovey dovey way but we were never in a relationship or whatsoever.

Kim: Remember its my performance tomorrow tonight! Don’t be late.

Me: Oh yeah, I won’t. Where will you be going after?
(I decided to take the initiative to ask her out after her dance performance)

Kim: Why? You want to date me out is it? *shy*
(Looks like she know where I am heading to)

Me: Yeah something like that.

Kim: see you tomorrow!

So is it a yes or a no? I am confused but to wait until tomorrow night.

So the next day, I went in to the concert hall with a bouquet of lilies and it was kinda awkward for me because I don’t usually do this like giving flower to someone else.

After her performance, I went to look for her and gave her the flower that I bought in.

And all her friends were so envy.

Friend1: Wahh… Kim so sweet leh, got people buy flower for you.

Friend2: Ya lo we want also don’t have.

Kimberly immediately blushed and bade goodbye to them and we left together.


We went to a restaurant near City Hall and we took a walk and a secluded area at fort canning park by the bench.

Kim: Thanks for the flowers and everything tonight.

And she gave me a kiss on my cheek.

Just as soon as she close the door, a car drove in and park on the other side as though as he was waiting for someone else. I pay no attention to it and drove out of the carpark but I made a wrong direction. I had to U turn and pass throughout her house again.

To my surprise, I saw Kimberly hoping on to another guys car who park by the side earlier on was actually waiting for her.
