I change at the shop next door at most time,better rate than most...hehehe...the rate after comparison from surrounding,they are still a little better. Maybe becos its me changing the money ,becos i warned the fat girls there,if i can find better rate than them,then its the last they see of me,hehehe...and i am sure they wouldnt want to lose my business (along with a group of other friends as well).

For newbie/s,always ask around at least 3 shops along the stretch of money changer for a better rate and combine your resources if you are in Batam with friends so you can ask for a better bargain via changing bigger amount.

Ya, understand that you paid for business class (or is it VIP?) which allows you to be at the front of the crowd. It's worth it for you cos you're used to using Horizon. It's just $10 more? There's price revision for CNY period right? (I think you posted the prices for CNY period, but I didn't keep track of it since I don't take Horizon.)

But, for those of us who are used to paying $30-$35 (my tickets are bought at $28 nett), almost $60 just for ferry ticket is quite expensive. Well, either pay up or put up with the queue lor. LOL..

I just came back from my money changer walk,everywhere including main road shops during towards Nagoya Hill Mall (around the diagonal opposite of Indo rasa) all whole stretch money changer there can only get 9200 at max,including those opposite formosa hotel (even when i offered to change in S$1k notes). Time i was there was at around 7pm batam time.

The below shop is currently having the best rate at 9250/SGD. Linda's boss really worked very hard every CNY,i have a feeling her hobby is to make money,hehehe...every year CNY also work so hard to beat most of her competitors,just too bad all my regular money changer shops closed. *sob*

Yea,i think you should. Much often i dont pray for having win lots of money or be very RICH. What i ask for were usually peace of mind,things i worked for to go smoothly,controlling my emotions,stay healthy and consistency in life with no bad hiccups. And if my prayers were answered,i just go back to return my sincere thanks. I do good deeds in their names w/o claiming credits too.

How i wish you are here now,can have more people with me playing fireworks...hehehe...see many humans like me and my friends literally "burning" money (like playing bowling,hehehe...).

Horizon Ferry tickets during CNY eve,1st,2nd and its 3rd day is at S$60. S$10 more for business class. No point taking VIP as it defeats my purpose. The best part of the Business class is,a pretty-enough lady from Horizon will lead me to cut all other queues to get my passport chop 1st. I do not need to run or worse,wait in line with others. Not forgetting, there are practically zero foreign workers from Sillypore on board.

There are only 4 person including myself in this trip on Business class,i alighted the ferry 1st,and i 'walked a bit slower' than Quicksilver (hehehe...)...when i saw the long queue from the last Batamfast and/or horizon ferries still uncleared by Batam customs,i really thank heaven that i paid more.

Yea,comparing S$35 with S$70,its double and double is definitely way more...but normal time (or non-peak days),i dont have to wait with their S$48 tickets,but this time round,its a super ultra big crowd,in fact its the biggest thru the whole year...so i think its still worth it. I saved time which i need to during this period so as to consistently beat the right timing to do the right thing. (天时地利人和)

My greatest fear when visiting any 3rd world countries is none other than the immigration dept from the custom side. It is especially so for people like me who dont understand or speaks their language.
