It all happened 6 years ago and it still hurts me till this day.
I met her, Jean, at a drinking session with some of my friends. She’s one of my friend’s old classmates. When she appears in front of us, all of us turned our heads not because she’s stunning but all of us are not attached. She does not have that angle’s face with devil’s body. All she’s got the sweet and simple look that all mums want as a daughter-in-law. However, the fact is that she’s already somebody’s wife. All of us were so disappointed then, so I just have to drop the idea of dating her. As all of my friends had lost interest in her, I have to try to talk her and we talked whole night. I think to myself well at least I got a new friend whom I can talk to. We exchanged our contacts and from then on we would chat for few minutes every day. As time goes by after a week of getting to know each other, I arrange for a coffee, just the two of us. Trust me all readers, both of us never harbor the thought of starting a fling or affair. We are enjoying each other’s company for coffee, travels, lifestyle and food. Bit by bit, I get to know more about her including her marriage. Guess what? I knew her husband but just an acquaintance. Then Ana told me that it was a setup by her because she does not want me to be in this game of being a third party. I was so mad with Ana but I appreciate her kindness but right now the most important thing is to explain to Jean what happen. Two days passed and finally Jean picked up my call. I’ve tried explaining everything to her but nothing seems to work. She said it’s not about whether it’s a setup, it’s all about lies and honesty. I arranged to meet up with her to make things clear to her. Seems like all my explanation and assurance has paid off and looks like she has resumed the trust on me. Everything went on as usual, we’ll still make out till we are both worn out and sleep together under the same blanket. On the day of her departure to continue her assignment, she told me that she had accepted the offer by her company to a 3 years assignment oversea. I shook my head in misbelieve! She said it’s because of this cheating incident that made up her mind to leave me. No matter how hard I tried to persuade her to stay, nothing works this time. She was set to leave me for good. Since I can’t make her stay, all I can do I let her go with all my blessing. She cancelled her mobile service provider and did not leave the oversea contact so that I could not bother her.
