I am afraid Rafa might just go at the end of the season, and we will have to start rebuilding all over again........

That will be a problem but the BIGGER problem will be, if Rafa leaves, how are we going to attract a good manager to come coach at a club in such turmoil? I won't like to be working for such bosses and in such an environment.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Avram Grant an admirer of Rafa in disguise??
![]() A deserved win Avram? Grant said: 'Yes.' What particularly pleased you about the performance? 'I'm pleased.' What in particular pleased you? After an eight second delay: 'I don't know.' • Click here to read Richard Jolly's view from the press box Is it a relief to win here? 'Yes.' You seem lost for words by the performance. Are you more satisfied with the performance or the victory? 'Both.' You seem distracted. Do you have a problem? 'No problem.' Is there an issue? 'No. I'm ok. I have nothing to say.' Do you have a message for the Chelsea fans? 'You represent the Chelsea fans?' They must believe you are still in the title race, do you have a message for them? 'No message.' Does this result mean you are back in it now? 'I don't know.' How many steps have you climbed to undertake this press conference? 'I don't know.' You seem less voluble than usual. Is it because of Sky TV moving the game to a Thursday? 'Maybe it's because of you. I don't know. I am ok.' You are saying that you don't know if you are still in the title race? 'No.' Is it easier to say nothing Avram? 'I don't what to answer. It is a good question. I don't know what to answer.' Is this because of Sky? 'No. Sky is ok. I enjoy watching them.' Is it a protest against newspapers? 'No. Why?' Why else would you come in and refuse to answer our questions? 'I answer every question.' You are two points behind Manchester United and you don't know if you are still in the title race? 'No.' Have you told the players that you don't know if you are back in the title race? 'What I tell the players is something else. You want me to tell you what I say to the players?' We just want you to answer the question really. Are you in the title race? 'I don't know.' Would you not like to gain some positive publicity for the result rather than this bizarre silence? 'I'm sorry. You can write whatever you want and I can answer what I want.' Do you feel under pressure to deliver a trophy. Is that the reason for the monosyllabic answers? 'No.' Are you upset? Do you feel you have been misrepresented? 'Maybe I have said because it is a bad season.' Did Michael Essien faint? 'He had some problems, but he is ok.' Michael Ballack? 'Injured.' What's his problem? 'Ask the doctor.' He's not here Avram. 'Well call him then.' Have you ever played the yes/no game Avram? ..... After the Evershite game. |

![]() The Fulham match most likely will be either a draw or a narrow win. I wont be surprise if Rafa changes at least half the team to save some of the key players for the Champions League against Chelsea.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Hey guys, remember Rafa talking abt signing a player who can walk into our first 11? From Soccernet.
Barry considering his future at Villa Park Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry will seek assurances from manager Martin O'Neill regarding his summer transfer plans before deciding on his future. The England midfielder is being linked with a move to Liverpool and knows he is approaching the peak of his career. His write up from Soccernet: 6 Gareth Barry | Defender Squad: Born: February 23, 1981 Height: 5' 11" Weight: 12.7 Pos: D Age: 27 He seems to be able to play as a midfielder or as a defender. I do not know much about him. Is he a right sided, left sided, central player? Will he add something new to our squad? |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Man U just drew 1-1 with Blackburn. This throws the title race open again. If Chelsea can beat them at Stamford Bridge this weekend, both teams will be tied for points with 2 games remaining. We beat Fulham 2-0 with our 2nd string squad, which almost guarantees us 4th spot.
I think this week's result is good news for us. Chelsea's squad is small and there are a few key players injured. Now that they are back in the title race, they won't be able to rest players in between the 2 legs of the Champions League Semi-Finals whereas we can send in our title-winning reserve squad from now on. In terms of physique and psychological freshness, I think we stand an edge now. Cheong ah! It's almost a yearly affair to whack Chelsea in the semis.. ![]() |

However, personally feel he is mainly a central midfielder and I don't think Rafa will buy him to play in defence?

![]() But if we were to buy him for central midfield, don't we have enough central midfielder? Gerrard, Alonso, Lucas, Mascherano, Plessis. If we are buying him for left defender or left midfielder, it may make more sense. We do need strength in left midfield. Babbel's crosses aren't very consistent. Anyway, just to sidetrack, who says RAFA is boring and can't joke? I just read this off our official website and I found it funny. RAFA ON FULHAM WIN AND HYYPIA INJURY Jimmy Rice at Craven Cottage 19 April 2008 Rafa Benitez has revealed Sami Hyypia should be fit for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Chelsea despite picking up a knock in the 2-0 victory over Fulham. The veteran defender was withdrawn at half-time after a clash of heads which left him dizzy. Benitez said: "We have a problem with Sami. He has a knock in the head. He was dizzy so I asked him if he'd seen the third goal! He just looked at me (with a confused look). On the skipper's (Hyypia) neck injury, Benitez added: "I was talking with the physios today and he is improving but it is still too soon (to say if he'll be okay for Tuesday). You always have to be careful with the neck. He's been scoring a lot of goals with his head!" ![]() |

But if he does come, as he mentioned he wants to win trophies and might adapt because of this reason, I feel he will play on the left hand side just like you mentioned.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
aft last nite's win at fulham, the Reds r 8 pts in front of everton with only 3 games left in tis season.
They jz need 2 win at least 1 of the last 3 games, in order 2 at least finish 4th place in the current season. Chelsea looks 2 hv some distraction in their SF clash with The Reds. They r still in the hunt 4 the EPL,& they r facing off with the red devils in between the UCL SF clash. |
