well... i had a similar experience with a pretty Pinoy girl who worked at one of the pubs along Neil Rd, and I met her abt 5 yrs ago...
in the beginning, didn't buy her any LD... just chatted with her. then subsequently, as i knew her better, i will buy her 2-3 LDs but that's the limit. after that, everytime she will ask me go down to her pub but rarely ask me to buy her LD, as she know its very difficult to earn money. I was also very frank with her that its difficult for me to earn money as well... remembered one or twice when she was back in Phil, she tried asking me for money but I rejected her, say I cash-tight blah blah blah... nothing happened, still keep in contact. and of cuz I Visited her twice when she was back in Philippines
