Tim - it's pretty safe, I generally don't carry more than i can afford to lose, but these are legitimate businesses and if you are a good customer and treat the guys up front and the girls inside with respect, you'll be fine. Stick to the legal houses - they have a clear red number outside.

As to the guys out side, man up a bit dude! They know why you're there and they've got the goods inside! It does feel intimidating the first time... till you've lost that particular cherry anyway. Just put on a confident looking smile and say confidently "sure, can I take a look?" If you don't fancy any you see, just smile politely and say "thanks, all very pretty girls but not quite what I'm after" and head out. Try again at another place. Act confident and you'll feel confident.

If you like someone point her out to the guy and ask how much to spend some time with her. If it's over 150, you're paying foreigner rates, feel free to say "sorry man, 150 is my limit" and look to leave, they'll change their mind on the price. Give the guy the money and follow the girl to the room. She'll help you through the rest if the processes or you'll be able to work them out yourself.

Ahliu's advice on reading some recent FRs and planning a couple of places to head for is also a good plan.

I don't know why you guys are so skeptical. He went GL because he was horny, but got scared when he was there. Newbies, by definition, would probably have never been to a sauna in China or Malaysia, and so won't know how they work. That's why they are called newbies.

When I first started cheonging, I also didn't know how the system worked, and was also a bit intimidated by all those guys standing outside. I went and checked GL out a few times before plucking up the courage to walk into one of the houses. I wanted to try L18H18 because it was most popular in SBF, but I finally walked into L18H16 because it was less intimidating.

I don't think there's anything wrong with asking basic questions, although he should probably have read the stickies. Still, there is no reason to doubt his questions.

I'll describe fish-tank houses here ( Cat 50 Thai and Cat 80/100 PRC) as they are usually the ones with men (OKT, pimps) outside.

Choose a house you fancy, and just walk in. If there are men(OKT, or pimps) standing outside, you can ignore them and walk straight in, although if they talk to you (they'll usually ask if you have any regular girls or to inform you that they have new girls), it's polite to acknowledge them with a short reply (I usually just say I'll take a look at the ladies first).

When viewing the girls, don't stand in the doorway. Walk into the room itself.

As long as you don't piss the OKTs off, they usually won't be rude to you. If you dun like the girls, just thank the OKT and leave. Sometimes the OKT will say something like "take one of the girls lah, support me leh, etc". Don't let that pressure you into taking a girl you dun want. Just smile and say "Next time, next time" and leave.

Just be polite and they'll return in kind. In all my years in GL, I've never had a OKT be rude to me except one who expressed unhappiness that I didn't take his girls.

There is a receptionist of sorts in the houses (he stands behind a small counter), but he's actually more of a cashier. He collects money and keeps time to ensure the sessions end on time.

If you do see a girl you like, just tell the OKT and give him or the cashier the money. The girl will grab a towel and bring you to her room.

The room is usually small, clean and quite cozy, since it is the girl's personal room as well (she sleeps there). It's very safe. She will have no chance to steal your things since she's with you 100% of the time, and she also wouldn't want to be arrested, since the house is licensed and regulated by law. It's far more likely the customer steals the WL's things than vice versa (there was an ass of a SBF bro who stole the WL's panties).

Undress and she'll shower with you. Then proceed to bed and bonk bonk bonk. Then'll she'll shower with you again. Get dressed, thank her and leave. My advice is not to tip her, even if she hints about it. Tipping her will make you obligated to tip her again whenever you visit her, and also spoils the market.

On the way out, the OKT, whom you felt was intimidating, will actually seem like a nice person and they sometimes will thank you as well.

One question. How do i know what category a house is in? Only way to know is by asking okt? Can a house have both 150 and 100 girls? If i ask the okt for price and he tells me 150, how do i know if it is really a cat150 girl?it could also be a cat 100 girl and okt asking a higher rate from me for being a foreigner no? How do i know what the real category of a girl, for Singaporeans is?

Maybe it's make you laught when foreigners ask some silly questions. But culture is really different and honestly, some Americans or Europeans guys who never think to see girls before may change his mind in asia.
But instead to threat them as enemy, you should better do like some guys here threat them as friends. Those guy should also be able to write review and FR's after and help you to make your choice...

It's just my way to thanks the guy's who take time to share knowledge and to tell to the other that one day they will be happy to get answer on a basic question on a new situation....

I have had nasty ones before... I think it was in Lor 183X ... Pimp asked me to have a look, so I did, he kept insisting which ones are good etc, I nicely said thank you, perhaps another time. As I walked off, he yelled at me in Chinese saying that I am not here to pick a wife... 'Thank you' is no use, I am here to make a living!...

I seldom meet courteous Geylang pimps outside those legal houses. I once asked 1 of them is it possible for 1/2 hr with 1 of his Cat 50 Thai WLs. He said it was n to cum inside. Do most WL speak or understand english? Or do non-chinese ppl have to rely on the OKT to select and let the WL know what are our service needs or preferences?

Depends. About 60% of Thai girls know enough rudimentary English to know what you want. And of course, you can always use sign language. The remaining 40% know some Mandarin. Not surprising, since many Thais have Thai-Chinese ancestry.

Some are actually Chinese whose ancestors have settled in Thailand (Chinese diaspora), in which case, you are lucky because Chinese WLs in Geylang cost $100/$150, while you are getting one for just $50 :-)

As for PRC WLs, most of them prefer to speak in Mandarin. I suppose if you are a foreigner, you can try your luck in English. Again, they usually know some very rudimentary English (probably less than the Thai WLs, since these girls in their homeland entertain mostly Chinese guests, while Thai girls entertain English-speaking tourists), but probably not enough to communicate effectively. Use sign language I guess.

Those men at the door gets very annoyed when u stand at the doorway to catch a quick glance at the girls, and they will say u are blocking the wide doorway of incoming guests even if it is a quiet hour. Being rude and saying nasty things when we turn away and move on.
