If its a family sightseeing trip,Gideon Hotel will be a good hotel to stay in as there are many food places and shopping around that area.The reception can also arrange golf games places and pick up for guests staying there too.If its NOT a family trip,read my signature links,all of it. An area where every Massage Fan will go to and i am talking about around 20+ massage shops all within 1 or 2 stone throw away.

Clean Massage around Gideon Hotel,try Reborn which is around 150 steps away. Walk out of the Gideon front door,walk straight and turn left. Continue to walk straight till you see Reborn shop. Dirty massage,just take the lift "down" to the 2nd floor of Gideon Hotel (you will be staying in room higher than 2nd floor). Please bargain if you are being offered special service becos it will be one of the MOST expensive special service in Batam,almost equates to most Sillypore prices.

Alternatively you may wish to grab a taxi to Utama Hotel and circle around the radius of the hotel,or simply just stay in Utama Hotel instead of Gideon. Since you are a 1st time Batam visitor,try reading my signature links. It has to date helped many people navigate Batam,i hope it can help you too.

I am a newbie and would be going to Batam to cheong on 30 june to around 3 July (time and date flexible). Anybody interested in hooking up and showing me the ropes.

I am fairly familiar with Batam (in terms of shopping and tourist areas) but really not much knowledge of cheonging in Batam. So would appreciate someone experienced and who don't mind me tagging along.

By the way, as it is into the 'puasa' season, can I just check if the joints are still open? Would there be stepped up 'Razia' because of hari raya?

It's better to be in smaller group. If reli got 15 men grp,better to break it up to 4 grps for easier navigation. 3-4 men in a vehicle wld be ideal. 3-4 men in a grp mus appoint section commander,so u need only to call on 4 commanders.

Most higher end Spa like Delta,Octopus,Altalanta etc will still be open. Other massage shop might open later (around or after 7pm when they break fast) or not open at all. Hard to really gauge the timing now. What i heard from friends is that the Police are coming down at joints,KTVs, Disco,Pubs, MPs much harder than the previous 2 years.
