Hi guys, I tried changing the DNS on my pc as advised but still I can't get pass it - still getting the blocked page. Is VPN my only solution? Anyone can advise?

If you are still blocked after changing the DNS it can only mean that you have not done done it correctly.

Get someone to help you out.

The app dnset works even if you are on 4G data.

I have tested it and it works.
It's basically changing the DNS server to google's
1) 8.8.8.8
2) 8.8.4.4

oh my god cannot believe you singaporean IT knowledge so bad, alot of us malaysian already know how to bypass the block. My suggestion is if you are not IT savvy, just use a VPN or TOR browser. It solve all your issue and there is very little for you to configure.

Bad experience with VPN. Paid 5 years subscription, after a few months cannot log in to their server, emailed them and without reply from them.

It is not that Singaporeans have poor IT knowledge, I'm sure there are a lot of people all around the world, including in your own country, that are not any better.

If you're not IT savvy, don't suggest Tor to others. Just because it can be used to access the forum, doesn't mean that it should be used.

VPN is a lesser evil and even that is not a requirement.

All that needs to be done is to switch to a different DNS server.

high chance your browser resolve using IPV6 so the IPV6 dns is used. in that case you either disable your IPV6 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...advanced-users) or use google IPV6 DNS servers

Oh and those using VPN, please note if you don't disable IPV6, it's still possible to "leak" traffic to the IPV6 if the browser use that over your IPV4 address. That's why i disable my ipv6 address and save a whole lot of hassle.
