It's was great but not as crowded as before! Taix and Tanapon are both proven singers and their song are solid. Enjoyed very much with their nice and good vocals ! Hope there are more these type of solid singers perform here often!

Was there last night with my buddies.

Arrived at around 8pm. Without a table booking, it was tough as the place was chock a block full. Luckily saw a few drinking buddies who had 2 tables booked at the foot of the staircase in front of the stage.

Parked there and had some of the free drinks (Only Bacardi Breezers left by then).

By 9pm, the crowd, lack of airconditioning led my friends and me to get out and head towards J-Dee.

Getting to like the band there because the comedian/lead singer has got a large reportoire of jokes and hardly repeats them.

By 11pm, went back to Hip Hop to catch the concerts.

Arrived to find Taxi going at it. Totally enjoyed his set.

However, by the time Sueur Thanapon came on, the sound system acted up and the strong voice of Sueur was marred by very bad echoes.

Left halfway through his set and went back to J-Dee.

I hope the management of Purn Thai will consider treating the paying customers with more respect. I'm ok with the hand me down furniture from upstairs (I find the stools better anyway). But taking the sound system from upstairs is too much for my ears.

I remember many many bands ago, Thai Disco had bands with comedians. This is a feature of Thai bands, but sad to say with the dwindling numbers of Thai workers (being replaced by Bangladeshis and Chinese), many joints are re-positioning themselves to appeal to a wider Chinese speaking audience, therefore, no point having comedians with jokes that you can't understand...

Yes, they sing more Thai songs than the rest of the joints. Reason being Ah Laek, the guy running the show has had chats with quite a few of the regulars who requested for that as many of us lament the lack of Thai songs.

Sound system wise, definitely better than the others. Licensing for all new joints nowadays are 1am. They will have to wait for about 6 months for their 3am license. Basically if nothing major happens (fights, brawls, drugs, etc.) they will likely get it.

it depends wat kind of audience u r. basically i believe there r 2 groups of locals patronising these joints. 1 of them r customers who dun really understand thai culture (music, language, etc.) thus making THH appealing to them as the band plays more mandarin, hokkien n english songs. whereas for customers who r familiar wif thai culture would wanna patronise j-dee coz it makes them feel dat they r in meung thai discos...

lastly, if u r juz looking for thai pooyings... u have to go there urself n make ur own comparison... :D

Found out that two of the singers from the new band for Purn Thai Disco just finished stint in Taiwan... I don't think they're there to sing Thai songs nightly...

Guess what, 2 idiots super drunk was actually starting a fight when the police had aldy turn on all the lights! HAHAHA so funny...

My observation is now Thai Disco the crowd makeup different already....just like another local disco maybe because of the chinese/english songs they play now....but management should be happy since everyday also pack.....knn go after 10pm usually no tables anymore. Hip Hop so small but most times also not full dun know why......J-Dee quite popular got mixed crowd but looks more like a regulars hangout.....Dag Thai no FR, not been in for a while already....

Lately, has been up and down GM's Thai Disco, has been dragged to Dag Thai now known as Thailand Disco by one of my friends. He know the boss and the band there and asked me come along. Have been there for about 3 times liao, my friend has introduce the boss and the singers to me, so far, over there although the feeling is not as good as 2nd level Thai Disco but over all the band is not bad. They do sing some nice songs and mixture of Thai, Chinese, Cantonese and English. They do have show once a while and when the band is having break, the lady singers will be on stage to dance for about 5 to 10 minutes. The females singers over there though not as attactive as Intention and Collection Band but it still ok. One of the singers has been in touch with me almost everyday via sms day and nite. Over there, the singers need to ask for lady drink from the customers as requested by the boss. As usual, customers can buy flowers and they even have something like those Miss Universe Banner which say some thing like Miss Thailand which cost about $100. Over here, the flowers are not shared among the band and the boss. The crowd not bad on Thursday to Sat. For these few weeks, it will be closed at 1am but once the permit for closed at 3am approve, it will be back to normal. Once a while to take a break from upstairs, it is no harm to try here. They do have freelance ladies here like Thai and Vietnamese here to ask for lady drink and keep you accompany.

The Collection Band at Thai Hip Hop will be staging their last perfomance at Thai Hip Hop on 5 Sep, this coming Tuesday. They will be going back on 6 Sep(Wednesday). After which, for this month, the Intention Band from 2nd level will co-perform at Thai Hip Hop until next month when the new band come.

Expected the quality of Coyote gals and their dance to be good but turned up disappointed. The dance is very ordinary and the quality of the gals are not that beautiful. I think some of the dancers in TD 2 level are better than them. It started at 12 midnite after the last performance by Collection Band. I think many ppls there are looking forward to the Coyote performance but really turned up to be very ordinary.

punch is super pretty and na-rak mak mak! the prettiest personality to ever grace the thai hip hop stage...

it was brilliant to have heard her do a palmy and endorphine cover!! was bopping up and down like there was no tomorrow.

i was crumbling within my elbows near the stage... cos there were so many people!!! pu-ying mak mak na...

$25/- for such a short set, with a capacity crowd, is quite a let-down....

reckon TD is juz too jam packed by the time I go up.. THH still offers seats even by the time we finish our session at DAG..

DAG is really a place for chilling out with the band churning out Thai/Chinese/Canto/English songs. With the current band, they do usually have a "Costume Show" usually at the 1130pm set.. Regulars would noe wat i mean.. n i seriously muz say.. Ah Phun seriously has a super powerful voice... but again ... DAG seriously need to consider upgrading on their sound system.. Singers for this band "Little Rock Band" r pretty good actually.. very Hip Hop bunch as compared to "Mulan" that band.. abit more mellow.. compared in songs n dance.. but "Mulan" had cute singers.. LoL...

Yesterday the new band arrived & some of the samsters went down to THH in 1st floor. we went there before 10pm and we didn't know it will only start at 12am. Eventually the 1st song was sung at 1230am...

The band was not bad. But personally I felt that it's not worth waiting for 2.5 hrs. The singers have great voice & the male hip hop dancers are good as well.
But I guess it will be better if they only sing thai & english songs instead of chinese ones. Ya, the most impt part to all bros out there... the female singers are not as chio as TD... :p :D

Yes everyday is open with Live Band. However, few of the singers are sick probably due to the quality of the air. When they performed somewhat the energy level is not there... :(

there is no new band at j-dee. the current repertoire is just a space filler. the keeper band is just taking a break after their work permit expired last week. and it is learnt that the j-dee management has been rather unfair in the dealings with the band. but it appears that they have re-negotiated and penned a new contract and work permit. the keeper band should resume on friday.

was there last night too and besides the other time when punch performed, never enjoyed myself so much at thaihiphop. but last night, the society band changed my views altogether! the male dancers are really something! they look good, dance well and have great energy.

on another note, did anyone read in the new paper yesterday that golden mile is up for sale and redevelopment? i hope they won't tear it down for major enbloc as that will be a terrible blow to the singapore architectural landscape. it is a landmark piece of architecture.

yeah, was previously quite a regular at live impact when the previous band, city cats, was playing. the female singer was pretty. and insanely entertaining. seen the new band a few times, but the chemistry is very different now. although, it's quite unique to see someone use a key-tar to perform.

yeah, THH is slowly winning me over. the band is entertaining. i concur on the tallest singer. she can't sing / entertain. she sings off the lyrics sheet stuck onto the front lead vocals monitor. but she is pretty. i am a sucker for looks. heh. it is beyond a doubt that TD and THH still have the better bands.

I got to know all them through introduced by my friend as he is very regular there. He and the boss are very closed so the boss will introduce all the lady singers whenenver there is a new band to my friends first. One of them is my friend's gf. One of the singer are veryinterested in me although i seldom go out with her and seldom buy flowers to her. She sms me almost everyday and there is a few times where can have a chance to up her but drop the idea because now she is very sticky to me now already and I worried after up her, she will be even more sticky. I only went out with her a couple of times and after I get to know my gal now from the Intention Band, I stopped go out with her but she still sms me everyday. Not easy at GM with those heavenly kings around, especially TD. Whenever I go there, I see the same faces there. Thailand Disco(dag thai) got slightly more chance.
