will be at phuket from 1 aug - 6 aug. n i have a question to ask as i'm staying at banthai beach resort, is this hotel guest friendly? if not how much does they charge?

If you had booked as a double, you can avoid the joiner if you are confident and firm with the front desk.

At check in, sign in also as double and register your roomate as GF using a name as obscure as "Khun Na" or whatever.

When they ask you for her ID or other details, say you not sure as you only have her Nickname and will supply later.

Later in the night when the girl comes back with you, just confidently go to your room and brief her to tell the security or whoever tries to stop you to check with front desk that she is your GF, Khun Na. Dont stop to tell him anything else!!

IF they later try to charge you, tell them "are you mad, that was my GF Khun Na and if you change girls, keep in using the same name. In the worst case, if they work out that you are changing GFs, tell them that you bought double and you have more than one GF!

hi i juz came b frm a trip to phuket,happen that i stay at b anthai as well.nice place wif nice pools wif bar counter in it.rm nicely decor and gd view..the best rooms is that on first level,when u open ur balcony door,it is the pool.wow..

I'm not really sure what u mean by amenities.. but I personally like to stay at Sand Inn at Soi Sansabai.... It's just across the boxing arena and Rock Hard AGoGo .... Doesn't has swimming pools and stuff but comfortable enuf for my whoring activities.. plus, it's just a minute walk to bangla road... which is good as I tend to sometimes drink more than i can...

It's of coz guest friendly... and the staff was really nice

From what I know Phuket Patong hs only this Christies. The other is in town and only if you got local friends bringing you; you may not really be welcomed. But again lor, asians maybe not so bad cos they are more scared of the dirty angmos.

Well, it is cheaper to travel by minivan(shared) from airport to patong beach. I forget the price liao, but it is standard price. But be careful halfway through the journey, the driver will stop at a travel agency office and tell u to get off because they need to change vehicle. The travel agency staff will ask u nicely if u have booked your hotel. If not, they will recommend and ask u to buy hotel voucher which they claim is cheaper:confused: DO NOT fall for this trick. I nearly kena but escaped because I dont have thai baht:D

As for going back, u can pre-book a minvan/car from your hotel or any travel agency. The price will be higher but more safe because u wont miss your flight:cool:. Anyway even if u manage to get a cab, they will not use the meter:mad:

Bro, U can try those dudes standing outside the taxi area holding flash cards and mumbling Teksi Teksi. For low season, I believe you can get a cab for 500baht, thats the lowest they can offer according to my cab driver.

For me, there were total 3 of us, and was quoted 650baht. His car was a honda jazz :D

However, i had good time with some guys there. I think thai are hospitable. KTM closed at around 01:00. My new thai friends brought me to this more local disco in a row of shop houses that also have 2 local brothels. This disco is even more packed with lots of local and also thai ladies coming in group. The joint also play hip hop and I would say this place is more fun than KTM. I think you need to learn a few thais to be able to sian the ladies.

The hotel is 10 mins walk to Patong Beach but rather far from the many restaurants and pubs near Soi Bangla. Do note tuks tuks there are ridiculously expensive. A mere 2-5 min ride costs 200 baht (arnd $10). Not much point bargaining as they dont negotiate and all drivers charge around the same.

Didn't try Christin's Massage as reports from samsters no good plus CO was with me all the time. However, after lunch one day she wanted to have massage and we ended up at a place called Wanda next to a Mexican restaurant ( shld be on Soi Kepsap, 200 Pee Ratuthit Rd., Patong Beach area if i am not wrong).

Am just in Phuket now and can tell you all that due to low season being the low of the low it is a real buyers market here! Worth the 1 hour hop any day of the week. Yes, Tuk Tuk is always expensive everywhere in Thaialnd compare to other forms of transports. If u can ride, rent a motorbike instead, much better. cheaper and more convenient compared to car.
Or jus consider to take motosai or taxi, it still cheaper overall and less hassle compared to renting...

The low season rate for a small auto car should be 1000 bahts unlimited mileage.

They will pick you up at the arrival area (signboard of your name in hand) and bring you to their office to document and give you the car.

I used to use Pure rent a car in town+6676 211002 [email protected] which is also good and a friend of both Natto2 and myself but David has overall more cars now and a better location at the airport for pick up and return.

Navigation in Phuket is easy unless you are a topo king and the best option. Bikes are dangerous in my opinion and not worth the extra risk unless you are on a low budget.

Have planned a holiday to phuket in Sep and did some extensive research. The following hotels do not seem to have a 'joiner fee', i.e. they won't charge you if you bring a girl back to the room, which many hotels there do (kind of a dirty trick..) :
1) Siam Palm
2) Lamai Inn
3) Lamian Residence
4) V- Plaza
5) Expat Hotel
6) Summer Breeze
7) Ibis Phuket
8) C&N Hotel
9) C&N Resort and Spa

Most of these are tourist class hotels with limited facilities, but quite q few of them are located right in the middle of town, which is extremely convenient, as one will not have to get fleeced by the tuk-tuks to get to the action.

(8) + (9) C&N have a great package for the low season (till end Oct 08) where you pay for 3 nights and stay for 4, and also give you a free transport from the airport to your hotel (which will save you around B500).

Those wanting a larger hotel can consider the Ibis, which is new, but not as central as some of the others.

Btw, from now till end Oct is the low season in Phuket, which also coincides with the rainy season, so expect it to be wet. However rates are a lot cheaper at this time.

Been to Phuket in Aug. I would strongly suggest anyone planning to go Patong Phuket, to stay near soi Bangla because the tuk tuks are charging very high fare nowadays. During the day, no matter which part of patong you go, will start at minimum 150baht. During peak hours expect to pay about 200baht. After midnight, do expect the amount to be above 300baht.

hi, best use those little kioks that the banks have on the kerb side. they give reasonable rates and you really won'l be short changed. in town there are couple of decent places you can change and get decent rates. can't remember the name but is next to jewel shop right at the start of chanacharoen road. it's opposite the rattana mansion. run by koreans with a very non descript frontage and very easy to miss. most of the locals use it to change the forex thay receive from tourists.:)

hi, i going up tomorrow till tues. heard from my friends there everyday rain in the afternoon. water at the beaches still a little choppy and red flag up.(no swimming). island hopping is fun if you can swim and it's sunny, stuck on a boat for a trip to phi phi is no fun and arriving with no swimming is frustating! but i would say that it's a must for first timers in phuket. the bay facing krabi is a sight to behold. they used this location to film the bond movie and now there's a bond island too!

Was at phuket from 12 sept till 15 sept. house at royal palm resotel.

Day 1, weather was good thank god & no sign of public distress etc.
Drop by bangla rd and the occasion is like new year day party. place rocks. Its pretty safe thanks to the plenty of tourist & volunteer police around.
camp in some place along soi tiger. enjoy all night long.
dmg as below:
3 x house pour & beer total : 360 baht. (120 ea)
4 x lady drink @ 680 baht. (170 ea)
ST bargain @ 1500 baht.

Day 2, weather: some rain in the morning and sunny there after.
Island hoping (phi phi package) @ 1400 baht. after some bargaining a day earlier, can be lower but dun want waste my time on that. Drop by christea massage in the evening but the place short of quality. rate 1800 / 2800 / 2300 for the 3 cat. did not take up any. when to a back lane near my hotel along kep sub, there is a number of massage shop. alot of pulling by those lady outside the massage shop, manage to reach 1 i was interested, she is fair & petit. after some chat close the deal @ 250 for massage & 1000 for bom bom. Dun waste time drop by KTM if u do not have local to led u or unless u can speak thai.
Dun have too high hope in christea massage. A bit too pricy and quality no better then those in geylang.
"Tiger show" i did not go as i feel it is too cruel. we dun know what training they gone thru...
soi bangla have everythings we need although some girls there may prefer angmo over asian but still the sence of security, friendly babe it is not too expensive listed price drink out number it short fall.
Go UOB currency exchange booth if u need change more baht. It is at least 0.1 better then most place. There is 1 along soi Bangla.

My personal experience only.

Some shopkeepers/vendors, especially those immigrants, can be rude and pushy. Even my Aussie bro complained about them. Example, a shopkeeper quoted an exorbitant price for a t-shirt and next offered a discount which was still expensive. When we decided to walk away, he fcuked us "you crazy people". WTF..not that we owed him a living or that we counter offered a ridiculously low price.

Never have we encountered such attitude in any other part of thailand.

Food ok but still find bangkok better and more reasonably priced. The only thing really cheep cheep is beer. A can of tiger beer was only 23bahts or S$1 at the 711.

Ventured to Phuket ..

Taxi from airport 450 baht (meter++), exit and walk right to find. Stayed in Summer Breeze in Soi Sansabai, can recommend, quite convenient and no problems about anything. Street outside is party street all the way to the beach. Too many drunk farang and pink whales, but some OK slim ones too, even though no one looking really friendly.

First night found local Lolita's next to Suzie Wongs, talk about a hole in the wall entry, but the bar upstairs not too terrible. Service similar to BKK Lolita's, my lady was very accommodating and pleasantly kept me company afterwards while finishing our drinks. Scars on her wrist, she says love disappointement ..

Later walk around, but bad mood and the ugly side of the scene is unbearable. End up at the beach and allow myself to be stopped by a gentle soft-spoken girl who is racked by coughs every now and then. She belongs to a little group selling beer from an icebox. Bill for drink for me and her 100 baht together. (Even if everything is expensive in Phuket.) Next to us is a pack of 5 or 6 ladyboys with grins like razor wire. My girl is working together with a little sister and mother (but soon another mother comes along, maybe there are more mothers ..). The mother handles the money and is looking suitably serious. The girls are sweet country girls who don't speak very much English, but they are patient and sweet. Later go walking again in the freakshow, and finally go home alone.

Next night start by going back to the icebox on the beach. They are just setting up, fetch a chair for me to sit. Soon the girl from last night walks up and I smile and wave at her, but she looks down and shy a bit, and I see that she is with a blond farang boy for that evening. So I just smile and mind my own business. I buy a drink for the little sister and light a balloon together with her on the beach, that they send up high to make a wish.

Then I dive into the beer bar sois, the sun is just setting, my mood is better tonight and smiles strike sparks off the girls. Deep in Soi Eric I spot a terribly skinny little doll dancing on a pole, who makes me slow my steps and come to a stop just past her. A few minutes later a sweaty girl is pushed in front of me, and the pole girl says "take my friend, she ready to go!". (Later she phone to ask if I go to Surin beach with them tomorrow, I say yes, but the next day she is sleeping, only phones to say goodbye in the evening ..)

Her friend is a bit goofy-looking, and I wouldn't have picked her out, but on a second look I can see she is sure SYT. The other thing is that she is very drunk. I ask her how much, and she says 1500, and "I stay till morning .. but we go disco later .. you promise ..". Well, I say OK, we go to pay barfine, bar says it's 500, I say too ex, they say buy drink then it's 400, I look disappointed and start to say goodbye and walk away, then they say OK 400, so pay up and walk to hotel, only <5 minutes.

While walking talk to the girl. She is comfortable in English but talks in simple grammar and monotone. I tell her she's suay and she says with an anguished look "I know! But I bad heart!" She has been in Phuket two weeks and go with customer every night but has spent all her money on drinking with friends. She talks unguardedly because so drunk. In the room she wants to rape me immediately. Seriously wants to fuck.

Some detailed updates and tips

I stayed at phuket for 5 days and bro wanderboy for 2 days.

Day 1(Patong):
Reached patong around 4pm and took a walk around the place.

Left my HP at the hotel, but forgot the name of the hotel, spent 2 hours riding around trying to recall the route to the hotel from Fantasia. Went back to Patong around 1pm.

a) Roxy Agogo, Bangla Road, Patong
Inside got 2 jap-looking thai girls quite chio (think number tag 75)

b) Took a kawaii, jap-looking lady from agogo bar after her work at 3am. Thus saving me around(600baht on bar fine).

Tips
1. If you can wait, try to broke a deal with a lady after her work. Thus you pay less, and she earns more == More GFE

Yeah, the younger farangs are irritating, some older ones are pretty ok, will chat with you. Distance between patong and town about 30mins drive.

Yes. T2 is a bigger version of KTM. More people, the band is more power, stage is bigger and music is usually rock genre. It is right besides metropole hotel, tallest hotel in town(good landmark for me whenever i got lost riding the bike). Walking distance to Pearl hotel massage, pink lady chamios, fantasia, i met some girls there who went to patong after T2 closes at 2am. And party till 4am.

Town has a large shopping centre called "Robinsons" (White and green color) and ocean plaza, which is about almost the only shopping area to be honest.

Good to learn some basic thai (http://www.rawaimuaythai.com/Thai_language.html) before going the Town area as not alot speak thai. So can also have some small chat with the girls at the shopping area, more impressive.:cool:

Yes there is KTV.

Fantasia a huge entertainment place that has a huge stage, at certain timings(9pm, 11pm), there are singers and bands on stage. There is a huge, huge TV screen on the right that broadcasts EPL soccer. On the left there is a makeup area that houses about 20 girls. You can order a drink and view the ladies. Yeah you can pick a lady from there then bring to 1 of the many KTV rooms to sing. After that you can short time(3000baht) or long time(4000baht)

There are also a small group of younger girls, think less than 22 yrs old, that wears different costumes everyday(when i went was student attire) that can accompany you to chit chat in abit english, but i heard cannot bonk though. But if you got skill maybe can jio her after work i guess. :cool:

Swimmers warned of box jellyfish from Bangkok Post

The Marine and Coastal Resources Department has warned of box jellyfish attacks after the highly poisonous species was found off Koh Phi Phi in Krabi province.

The box jellyfish is not common in Thai waters and a recent discovery of the species off some popular beaches has sparked fears for tourists' safety and possible impact on the tourism industry.

So far two deaths in Thailand have been attributed to the jellyfish. The first was in 2002 at Koh Phangan in Surat Thani province, and the latest in April at Koh Lanta in Krabi.

Earlier this year, the son of an Australian journalist was stung while swimming off Koh Mak in Trat.

The jellyfish has most recently been spotted at Loh Sama bay at Koh Phi Phi. Several people had reportedly been stung by the species, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Anongwan Thepsuthin said yesterday.

The Tourism and Sports Ministry has also expressed concern over the spread of box jellyfish and its impact on tourism.

"People swimming in the sea where box jellyfish are present should exercise caution. The authorities will do their best to cope with the problem," Mrs Anongwan said.

Box jellyfish are known for their powerful venom, which has caused at least 5,567 recorded deaths since 1954.Wannakiat Thubtimsaeng, director of the Marine and Coastal Department's Phuket Marine Biological Centre, said the department had circulated letters to all coastal provinces, urging authorities to set up signs warning of the presence of box jellyfish in swimming areas.

Vinegar is the best solution to reduce the pain from a jellyfish sting before the victim is sent to hospital. Water should not be used, as this increases the pain.

I don't think there is a meter taxi per se in Phuket. You would need to negotiate with tuk tuk... tuk tuk in Phuket has always been expensive. The travel time to Patong without jam should be about 20 minutes.

Am no expert on phuket, just back to planet earth earlier this week. Combo stay 2 nights in phuket town and last nite patong. For Patong, C&N only 5 mins walk opp to Bangla. Basic, comfortable at bht1400 incl abf direct from hotel webbie (maybe xmas stretch up more). Clear sign at hotel counter says no overnighter charge.

Avoid the sleazy, small agg bars in sois with touts (but topless dancing). Better, classier ones like Rock Hard (off main Bangla stretch) had > 50 gals and Roxy (20 gals). Bar fine bht600

In Patong, lots of go-go girls and beer bar girls are semi-drunk or drunk by 2 am.

Both C&N hotel and C&N Resort are indeed OK. C&N Hotel is much closer to Bangla Road. I stayed in C&N Resort earlier this year and had no trouble bringing girls back to my room.

I enjoyed my stay at the Baipho hotel. They are girl friendly. So you will not have to pay a guest fee. The rooms are very nice and located close to the bar scene. You can also google phuket nightlife forum and with a little bit of searching find a list of guest friendly hotels in Phuket.

bro,its a long way to patong when some action can be found in town. there are several touts in front of the metropole who will be willing to bring you to patong at a guess of 450-600bht. if you dun feel safe in a tuk tuk, in front of ocean and robinsons there are pirate taxi's that will do the trip for more. have a merry christmas.:D

Was in Patong yesterday nite, wild party, mostly farang with some korean, jap...etc. Virgin trip to phuket is a eye-opener, agogo gals here cater more to farang rather than asian, in short, not my cup of tea :p. landed at phuket at 8pm and got a thai friend to pick me up and send me to my hotel in patong.lucky!!...save some dough for later.
stayed at lamai hotel and during high season is costly but location to bangla is very good.few minutes walk but did rent a motobike in the end.:Drooms are big and with tub and a view of the main road which i am lucky to get.

check out the beer bars and everywhere was filled with farangs and i was standing out at times.went slow on my first day.check out hot lips at soi tiger and i think this is a kathoey beer bar but still quite fun.one more called orchird i think at soi eric...saw the same girl working there since 4 years ago....different liao as she speak much better english than before.

did head down to hollywood to check out the place.girls get free one drink and guys pay for their own drinks inside.no entry fee like in banana or tiger so it is quite cool and packed with girls after 1am or so.2 separated rooms.house on one side and hip hop on the other.tons of FLs and i did get one tipsy to approach me but was with my thai friend so didnt advance to stage 2.

From my 1st hand experience before xmas. If your 2 nites stay is in patong, unrealistic with commute phuket town <> patong (30mins, bht400-600 taxi). Unless you do combo stay with either place.

My 1st stay in phuket town (previous trips in patong) over the weekend before xmas. So I gleaned info from this thread, also with buddy samster knowntender.

Phuket's a small town. Fantasia was an easy 5 mins walk from my hotel Sino (btw, nice boutique hotel : Sino House Hotel Apartment in Phuket Town (http://www.sinohousephuket.com/)) on Montri stretch. Not far on straight stretch from Ocean/Robinsons mall. It's a big club, you can't miss it.

Was quiet then (maybe busier over new year?) in phuket town. Everybody from airport taxi, hotel reception, coffee bar and Fantasia said it was like low season (traditionally high season this period).

Fantasia's not cheap, especially for solo act. Recall JW BL was way above what it costs in bkk (bht5-7k?). Cheapest was chivas bht3.5k++, must be due to some tie-ups. With LDs + mixers, you bill can add up.

Row of gals on your left, for your view (like arb nam joint, minus glass) and takeaway. Before your enter the main hall, do try to spot a few "sideliners" (part timer or so as mamasan says) in dark corridor. One I saw was not bad, but quoted bht6k.

When I was there, gals were not syt but more towards matured type. There were 20, though I hear on good day it's closer to 50. YOu can do the walk of fame and check gals out before getting to your table. Cannot remember LD cost but hazard a guess no less than bht300. LT "list price" is bht4-5k but think you can push this down to bht3k. Ask for mamasan Aey for lowdown and you can even get a discount card.

There's a band playing outdated english pop, and singers came on only after 10pm +. There's a singer Kung who used to sing at club99 who's keen to be back here (she came over before closing to chit chat). Seemed my table was only patrons near closing -gives you idea how koyak business.

Didn't venture to others like chamois mentioned here, as I left for patong last day. But I did pop by Pink Lady (opposite Sino hotel) before Fantasia. Not kind of place you can be comfortable, climb stairs and pathetic looking gals too.:( Maybe there are aother better clubs I missed out

On non-nocturnal stuff > Phuket town's rustic, good for a morning's walkabout with old chinese shophouses and streets. Spanking new mall Central (motorsai bht50-60 away from town). Enjoy

Everything in Phuket is overpriced. When I went to a few MPs there. I almost burst out laughing when I hear the prices for low quality girls. Guess I'll not be returning to Phuket in a long long long long time. Much better value in Pattaya, BKK, Songkhla, China and Vietnam. :D

I will be going phuket very soon. Its been a few years since I return. Used to cheong here quite a bit. The best ago-go in my view is the one at the end of soi eric. Cant quite remember the name. A few years ago, there used to be live lesbian shows every night with licking pussy and all. Now I am not sure if they have it.

The standard did drop as compare to many years ago and price keep going up because of the angmos but I do love the beach, sun and party atmosphere. And if you take time to search, you can find some gems at the beer bar. I had good and bad. Best one I remember is a 19 year old girl which wears mickey mouse underwear when I first had her. was in puhket for a few days. the weather was extremely fine with the sun out and the breeze made it bearable. was only in for a quick pit stop and found few changes to the place. biz in town is so bad they stop the escalator and turn the aircond up in ocean mall! for those bros who like ktrm will be in for a rude awakening as it has to suspend for 1 month due to shooting incident last week. lots of shooting incedecents all over phuket. never mind the pub next door got all the bizness, i dunno the name as it's all in thai. it goes like erkaerk in thai. don't go to the wrong one, there are two pubs flanking ktm. the one closer to the roundabout is quiet. i went rather early so the action had'nt started. happening after midnight with part time fl in amongst the crowd. for those who like the old world style with lots of out door cafe's will enjoy soi romani. it's off thalang road and is a showcase like emerald hill. some have live rock bands. mostly locals and fair chance for pickup. looks like recession has hit phuket. need to know anything else pm me. cheers and have fun.:)

Just arrive today from bangkok. What recession? Lots of farang here to escape their winter and saw quite a number of asian families too.

Many things have changed since I last arrived. Soi Bangla is closed to traffic. I am not sure if it is just for this few days or is it for the night. I arrived about 7pm and it is closed. So nice to walk on this road now. It was so crowded the last time I was here.

Brand new shopping and grand millienium also opened and now there is a carrefour. Now this place seems to cater more to families.

All the sois can only opened after 8pm. When I was having dinner at 8pm it was still very quiet. I came back to soi eric about 10pm and it was bloody crowded, almost jam packed at soi bangla. Of all the famous 5 sois, soi eric, soi tiger have much more people than the first soi easy.

I walked a few rounds and found little quality. I wore my bachelor bar t-shirt and went back to soi eric to see if this bar is still around. Alas I meet a long time friend - JOY. She was a bar-tender when I was last here and do not go with man for overnight. Very pretty girl at that time and I wanted to sian her but now very FAT...haha...

I thought she is married with baby but she told me she ate too much.I dont know if she goes with man now cause I didnt ask. Her friend who was also a bar-tender now go with man...haha...not as pretty as the old her...

Phuket Town is too far to bike ride. The cheapest way to get there from Patong is to take a bus.

I am just back from phuket. went there with some friends for a couple of days.
we stay at patong beach area, which should be the most popular area in phuket.
so I am here to provide some info on the cheonging scene there.

ok, for starter, there are many massage shops. For 200 baht, you will be able to get a 1 hr thai massage. if you are lucky, your massage girl might offer you some "special" at additional charges. I was lucky to be able to bring back my massage girl to my hotel on my 2nd visit. she told me she is not like those Soi Blanga ladies. so in the end, i got free fuck from her :) we even manage to make love in the small massage cubicle on my 3rd visit to her massage place.

for nightlife, you can go to Soi Blanga, which is a street with many discos and pubs. we went to a disco called Hollywood. it is quite a big place with many working girls inside. you can just approach any girl you like to dance, drink, talk with them. at the end of the night, if you want to bring her back, just tell her so and she will follow you back to hotel. The next morning, just give 1500 baht to her cos that is the standard rate according to my friend. all my friends do the same thing, and there is no complaint, so i guess it should be alright.
