Well sometime Phuket to get flooding if it rain too heavy. But after a while the flooding will be gone. not to worry so far i have not seen anything worst yet in my last few trip.

Jetstar is having promo cos their flights are always delayed! I freaking fly to Phuket for 3 times using Jetstar, 3 times delayed by 2 to 3 hours.. Coming back also the same! Going to boycott Jetstar liao! and it seem like every evening flight to Phuket is delayed when they state 8.45 pm fly, its always delayed till 11pm! and return flight, put 1am reach SG, it always 4am! Be prepared to take MC or leave for the next day!

hahaha.. i think that's the price to pay for for taking budget airline. Can't be help :p

Didnt expect it is super high peak season. When I see the cheapo tickets, I just grab and booked :p Now got to source for some cheapo hotel too. Maybe will stay at Phuket town instead, since the rate there is much more cheaper than in Patong.

Check out "The Gallery Hotel". It's a new boutique hotel. Just came back from Phuket yesterday only. It cost 900bht/day if you book thru Asiarooms. The room is spacious with a small balcony, and the bed is comfy. As it is new, so quite worth to stay. 5mins walk to Soi Bangla and 8mins walk to Jungceylon. Best thing - no need joiner fee when you bring a gal back, and they still retain their ic for safekeeping.

If you are into snorkelling, then you can opt for PhiPhi island tour. If not, then forget it. Journey alone takes up hours.

There is a man driver a nissan offering taxi service just beside the hotel. I approached him and offer to drive us around Phuket for a day (about 7hrs) at 1000bht. Consider quite ok. Went shooting range, ATV + Go Kart driving, visited some temples and even waterfall too.

Nightlife no need me to intro much. Some bros here had already given very good recommendations + FR.

Enjoys your stay in Phuket.
In fact, i still left my heart down there and forget to bring back :)

But bear in mind, from now on till Feb 2011, it's the super high season of Phuket. Hence you definitely wont be able to get this rate.

In fact, almost all hotels in Patong will doubled their normal price during these few months.

It's at kata beach centre. The beach boutique hotel. Sorry abt that, not at patong. There's a stretch of pubs near my hotel along the main road that's not bad with several gems. ;)

I stayed in The Gallery during October and the 900bht/night is valid only during the low season (before November). I had just checked the price of The Gallery for my upcoming January stay and it costs 2100bht/night! Sent them email asking why such a big jump in price and the reply is - super high season from now on till February. Though they did give me a discounted rate at 1700bht/night but think shall give it a miss and try other hotels instead.

similan islands is a beautiful cluster of islands for snorkling and scuba diving. it's a national park. you lucky u may bump in a mermaid.:D if you leave by those diesal boats you take the whole day to get there, but lots of chances for trawling for tuna,sailfish,dorado etc.

PHUKET: An Englishman found dead in his Patong hotel room yesterday morning apparently died from an overdose of prescription drugs.

Police are treating the case as suicide.

Kathu Police duty officer Jongserm Preecha identified the deceased as Brian Bibby, a 57-year-old originally from Wigan in the UK.

Staff at The Gallery hotel on Soi Jintana in Patong reported the death to Kathu Police at 10am yesterday.

Maj Jongserm said a suicide note and a large quantity of prescription medicine found inside the room led police to conclude Mr Bibby chose to end his own life.

There were no signs of trauma found on Mr Bibby’s body, which was taken to Patong Hospital for further examination.

The suicide note read:

To my family
The last wish in my life is for you to make it possible to leave my ashes in Thailand.
Spread my ashes in Loma Park, nearby the beach.
Thank You.

Police estimate that Mr Bibby died about two days before staff at the hotel discovered his body.

Mr Bibby’s belongings are now in the possession of the UK honorary consul in Phuket, police said.

Staff at the hotel told the Gazette this morning that Mr Bibby checked into the hotel more than two months ago.

He appeared happy, loved to stay near the sea and did not want to return home, they said.

He had paid his hotel room fee in advance and left a 1,000-baht tip for the staff, along with a letter thanking them for taking such good care of him during his stay there.

Live Update... It has been raining since my arrival. Finally on the 3rd day the sun came out. waste no time faster wake up thou i only slept at 5am. send my gal home which i pick up from Hollywood again. paid 2k she wanted to accompany but i told her i am sorry i am meeting my friends later.

Ride my bike all the way to Wat Chalong, went up to Big Buddha. Came back to patong to meet Slaughter and friends for lunch. Thank Bro Sential21 for bringing me to chicken rice the last time, brought them to the chicken rice, 3 plate of chicken rice at 150bhat only. which is around SGD2 per person. When to buy some shorts, t-shirt etc and than went for massage opp Christine.

Wow you will have to spend a bomb daily just to travel to patong which will caused 30 min drive from where you stay. you are there for business? maybe after your business you can move to patong. If you are there to cheong do not stay in posh hotel as they wil charge joiner fee from 500 to 3000 Baht. some 5 stars hotel dun even allowed joiners. Have fun.

The resort has a shuttle bus to Patong. Stops at the Courtyard marriott Patong. Can't remember the exact details but it's something like 5 times daily at 350 baht return - that was 12 months ago. Enjoy!

My stay at The Gallery is after this incident. Only knew about it when I come back to Sg. Think as long as you go stay with an open mind, it shouldn't caused any issue. Come to think of it, many hotels everywhere also have such cases happened before.

well at phuket i stayed in metadee. its a pool access type of resort where u can jump into the huge main pool from ur balcony. if u go during the off peak season, basically not much crowd.

Arrive at phuket aiport at night around 9.30pm(thailand timing). First time to phuket and had a taxi to fetch us to the Hotel. The place give me feeling like i am in msia. Where there is a hill that goes up like genting road like that and after coming down the hill can totally see the nice view from the top. After awhile reached my hotel. Had a quick shower before heading out to venture.

While walking to soi bangla we pass by a few massage shop and the ladies keep asking us want to massage. But we just decline cos the girl don't really caught my eyes. Nov-march is peak season i guess and the price of hotel everywhere will be like 3x higher. Hemingsway near to jungceylon mall and if u bring girl, no prob. Dont stay at apk resort and spa. Lousy service, no wifi in the room and u need to pay 500 baht if u bring a lady. See the reviews on tripadvisor on apk resort and spa. We rent a bike and without license and helmet and was caught by the traffic police. its about 500 baht only.

was back from phuket on sun. yep bike riding is good and it cost MUCH cheaper compare to renting bicycle at ECP.

anyway the massage is very ez to differentiate from 'dirty' and 'clean' however the one i went the room condition turns me off. the matt is dirty and on the floor flat room SUPER small and its quite dim.

Bro, most of the bike there are yamaha cub, auto gear. Rental range from 200 to 350. Make sure u put on helmet and ride slowly... Dun speed. Cos if u dun have a license your insurance might not cover you.

bros, my main activites in phuket are girls,gym. massage, the real thing and fishing. anyone wans to share a charter to similan with me. the trip is usually 3 days, it takes a day there, 1 day fishing there and the next day back. i could make it 2 days , one day trawling up, fish in the night and back the next day. the rate is 7000bht per day divided among the guys who want to go. i dun drink during the weekdays cause cannot tahan gym the next day. i think any one who wants to go, we have a drink together before just to meet up and if the chemistry clicks and at the same time get the gers who want to come along. the boat is a wooden boat with toilet and shower. 2 can sleep in the cabin and the rest up on the upper deck. i wan only 6 pax for comfort, please if you going bring a ger who suffers from motion sickness DUN bring her along. once we move off that's it. lots of whisky, beer and water can be bought at the seven 11 at chalong.at the moment i have 2 mongo's who want to come but i think they dun like the sun, so i going alone.
