usually 10 post in total will get you out of moderation.
Sam makes it very easy for newbies to get out of moderation,
so there will no excuse, simply just post more.;)

There's a link in the forum preamble to report copyright violations and illegal stuff such as child porn, rape scenes etc. However, if it is just ordinary images taken in public, then the images should not be an issue.

2) when i came back to the page (tab for SBF just now) and click for next page of same thread or refresh then it will log me out automatically.

are u on a network? if do then it could be your server time out settings..

otherwise use another browser.. i use firefox and never had such problem
also make sure the link is correct.. e.g with prefix and without prefix makes a difference

Probably against common sense, I’ve decided to now take a stance. I’m no good under any tyrannical rule in real life, so why should I stand for it here, a sex board, when such tyrannical powers are quite clearly not only being abusively used, but that indeed it should never even have been allowed in the first place.

My ONLY intention when contributing to ANY board had been to glean information/opinion/latest news on any topic being discussed and in return, contribute back by giving my own information etc. Yes, I may have gone a bit over board on this the Chang ping thread – but seeing as the whole town is dying, I was just trying to keep the interest of readers and am still hoping that you will be here when there IS new information etc.

I really do NOT believe that it is the intentions of the owners of this site to relinquish powers to this or any army of Taikors, Taikor wannabes, clones, sycophants and allow them to organize mass Zap campaigns just for them to maintain their iron grip as to what can or cannot be said on the forum. Even that offer of immunity from zaps by subscribing to premium membership - IMHO, too little too late, as this forum has totally been over-run by these tyrants with nefarious intents, and all the owners can do is to watch haplessly whilst this group of idiots terrorize the rest of us.

Threats and trolling – especially when backed by organized zapping that can actually affect one’s good standing on the board – HAVE NO PLACE IN ANY FORUM, and I’m really wondering why is it that the owners of this site has been allowing this. Why accommodate ACTUAL TROLLING AND THREATS done on an organized basis and worst of all, under cover of anonymity? This is not just cyber-bullying – it is way worse than just that and these monsters should be put in their place. Vanilla type Cyber-bullying is usually sorted out naturally by itself – but how can this type of cyber-bullying and …dare I say it…terrorism, sort itself out when its all done under the cloak of anonymity, organized in such an efficient manner and usually against one lone individual?

Again just IMHO, it’s high time that somebody take this stance and I fervently hope that others with the same sense of probity and decency – which I KNOW must be here in large numbers – would join in with their own condemnation of these organized trolls.

Other boards will promptly ban ANY trolls, but here, they’re free to terrorize all they want under cover of anonymity, zap with a real and organized sting and maintain their iron grip. I mean, just what is it that they THINK they are accomplishing by wanting to cow those of us who just want to contribute to the board into submission?

What, that they are so knowledgeable, so infallible that nothing else can be expressed by anybody else? How many potentially good contributors to this board have they driven away? I mean, it’s only a sex board and who’d bother to fight to just stay on? And why can’t ANYBODY post whatever they want to post?! It’s a discussion board ForCrissakes!

Many thanks for your research and prompt reply.

I am not specifically talking about the Chang Ping thread, rather it is the functioning of the reputation system. I am very sure that you had excellent, rational reasons when you installed it but IMHO, a bunch of guys or another have totally perverted and bastardized the whole system to serve whatever stupid/nefarious agenda they may have.

Of course I do not have hard and fast evidence but anecdotally, there is IMHO more than ample evidence to so prove:

- tchad88: I don’t know who he is/what his motives are; and indeed, some of his wonky postings may have been a bit fanciful, but he had maintained courtesy and reason. “They” engaged him a while and then, all of a sudden I see his points going down rapidly and more importantly, consistently to where he’s at now, firmly in the red (-88?) from his I think 60 plus points, and all within a day or so.
- Osamabinladin – his extremely foul language ridden invectives, just about all directed at me continues and whilst I saw that he had been zapped into the red a couple times, “somebody” had always upzed him back to allow him to continue his cussing and totally senseless tirade against me.
- Myself – Please look at the zaps, which of course is continuing even now; the very similar language used, and especially the identical word “babbling.” A mere coincidence? I’d seriously doubt it!
You point out that I’ve received multiple upz – and yes, of course I did. But I did NOT get these by exchanging points, soliciting anything from the “points gang” -which I would think you know about/have mentioned in the past - or by any other means except from just generally giving out information/pointers/opinion when I am able to do so.
I also would like to point out that now is NOT the only period when I had suffered such mass zapping attacks and thus whatever points I’ve acquired, I have really earned them properly. I am NOT worried/don’t really care about high points – especially since I see so many others just nonchalantly bartering points; what I AM worried about AND expect though, is that I will get zapped to moderation/negative figure.

The forum is simply a reflection of the real world. I can't influence human nature. Even if I removed the rep system, nothing would change. I've been on the net since 1995 and fights and wars used to spill over from the newsgroup soc.culture.singapore into the real world quite often. There was no rep system there. However, huge flame wars erupted on a regular basis which caused some to leave while new members joined.

The solution is simple :

1. Treat this forum as a bit of light hearted entertainment.

2. Don't take what you read here seriously.

3. Keep your identity secret.

4. Use the ignore feature so that you don't have to read the posts or receive PMs from those who irritate the shit out of you.

5. When you post, simply state your opinion and move on. There is no need to engage in heated exchanges. The best form of retaliation is to not respond. Trolls love it when they succeed in working people up. If they get no response, they'll be disappointed.

However, in the case of LastApril, it is because most of his posts are in the testing section and do not contribute to post count. Read the forum preamble.

As for BulleYe do a search and see what he posts if the post count puzzles you.

As for traffic/revenue etc I don't worry much about it anymore. This forum has always been a sideline hobby not bread and butter. It has thrived all these years precisely because I don't micro manage the forum. I just go with the flow.

Ref your PM regarding zapping patterns etc, you honestly don't expect me to do NSA type forensic evidence gathering do you! Even if I identified a few nicks that were clones and banned them, more clones would surface within days and the process would repeat itself. Cyberspace is a wild frontier. There's never going to be law and order and civilized behavior because behind the keyboards and the touch screens are flawed humans beings. Other than trying my best to keep spam at bay, I have never controlled the forum. I'm not a control freak.

My main focus is on the technical aspects... server uptime, security, speed, performance etc.

When I added the feature, I thought it would be a useful way of making the forum mimic real life where "status" could be enhanced or lowered with the rep system. I guess I was right all along despite the objectors who said it would destroy the forum.

Let me tell you something else Boss – your army of loyal SBF Samsters probably consider SBF as being way more important compared to Facebook, Twitter etc. as it deals with all males’ favorite subject and one that most will not want to merge with their regular day-to-day lives! It’s a total, all-encompassing parallel universe on our favorite subject!!

But you’ve probably forgotten the distinction between fame and infamy; yes, the reputation system works and should/would be something where most will strive to accumulate points through good, honest, informative contribution. But the way that this group of plonkers has bastardized it, it instead mostly just serves them to make life on YOUR forum quite miserable for their victims. Worse, it serves to discourage others from participating – preferring wisely to instead just lurk.

If you REALLY want to make it work the way it should, then I strongly suggest you remove the provision for anonymous points upping and zapping. In fact, I truly cannot see any good reason for its retention; I really would appreciate it if you will advise me what your reasons are. It is expected that all posters should act like adults – especially when this is such an “adult” forum! If anybody is so immature as to engage in zapping wars, inappropriate language, physical challenges etc, then he has no business to be on YOUR board. You offering them the cloak of anonymity merely shifts their totally undesirable activities away from the checks and balance that transparency provides, to an arena where they continue to act with bile, ruthlessness and all without any more checks and balance; yes, everything may APPEAR to be light and air on the surface, but sooner or later this rotten and invisible core is gonna make the whole apple crumble.

Adults should AND WILL act like adults in the glare of transparency – and if there is good justification for a zap, than it would be childish to retaliate irrationally/it would just open his churlishness to public ridicule and the court of public opinion to sort things out. I’m no expert but IMHO, this is how discussions forums are kept at a fully functioning hum of activity. You got a POV – discuss it, defend it rationally with a modicum of propriety – and not just be allowed to UNILATERALLY sling your bile whilst unleashing your rabid gang of dogs – all in secret! This kills forums.

As for how zaps or upz have been granted, this is NOT what I am railing about; it is the mass zapping gangs, the army of clones, all the nefarious going-ons that is happening right under all our noses (except for the one on the receiving end) that I am totally grossed out about. Just because it has been swept under the carpet by allowing anonymous zaps doesn’t mean that all the things you were trying to avoid have stopped; it has instead continued unabated whilst unwisely, not being recognized.

To his credit, I do believe that Boss is indeed trying his very best to figure out what I’ve been complaining about. I hope that I have done my best to let him see and feel what it is like to be just a regular member; I owe at least this to the members who have really been supportive of my efforts and had basically negated ALL the effects of the mass zappers to-date PLUS more!

I'm not going to change anything as the system is working perfectly and exactly as I intended.

Because of the rep system, old nicks have value as they have more power. Junior members have to tread carefully just as they do in the real world. If you join a company, you don't just walk in and behave as if you own the place on your first day at work. You'll be taken to task for sure.

The points system makes this forum similar. You need to blend in and form alliances so you can survive and prosper.

Where can i possibly complain or seek greviences if i feel i am innocently zapped. Despite me joining in 2007 and being low profile with only 80 odd posts, I have been surfing and reading stories now and then.

I suggested to a user thread and asked why he was using a limited time and paid download site, perhaps making people sign up to his advantage instead of a free one like mediafire. I think that particular user, who is a Newbie, newly joined in 9 April, gave me a red or a zap?

I realised that he or this user might or could have be a clone and opened 2 threads with similar posts/shares. Nothing wrong with this shares but it wasn't transparent and clear enough. There was no videos in his downloads but just some simple pictures and screensavers. I am not sure if I can request for an admin or moderator to check on this guy.

If a file is encrypted, it does not make any difference what platform or device you use. You still need to decrypt the file with the correct key.:p

4. yes, when a user is both premium member and a advertiser.. he will have the status "premium" so as inorder to be able to access the premium forum.

You should only give rep points to those who have constructive contributions.

You cant decide how many points you want to add/neg though,
it is determine by your rep power, if you have a rep power of 5, you can only give 5 points, no more, no less. You can zap about half of what u can add.
