The whole point system makes the entire site look cheap, many people
accumulate "war chests" and up their own reps via their own clones. Many
people have already gamed the system (the boss may not admit it), but this
is a for profit site, if the site becomes uninteresting, then it just dissapears
overtime from the internet.

Instead an infraction system should replace it, it would make more sense or

feels childish because i rather spend time doing other things then spending

the moderator decides who to ban or unban, not decided on some loser
because he cannot get laid and can only come to this forum to accumulate
points. It should be like other forums where seniority should be based on the
posts/join date.

This is a personal opinion i hope you guys take a clear view of as internet
traffic is important and any alienation of a certain segment of the traffic can

I undertand that i can hold multiple accounts. I didn't perform mass zapping for personal attack or zap with profanity. I zapped many samsters. My clones some how kena reverse zap.

May i enquire on which rule the clones have violate ? Any chance to restore their power?

It has nothing to do with not helping. I don't get involved simply because I'm not in a position to judge which zaps are unfair or unwarranted and which additions are underserving.

Since your rep power is currently "0", adding rep points means you are adding "0" so if you know basic algebra, x + 0 = x. :p

You should wait for your rep power to kick in first.

There is no need to give any reason for zapping and there is no requirement to leave ones nick. Reputation votes are secret and you can vote either way without fear or favour.

However, if you feel that all points added or deducted via the reputation system must have a valid reason, I'll be only too happy to restore all the points that were deducted for no valid reason and remove all the points that were awarded to you for no valid reason. Deal?

Yeah I still remember a member who asked me to investigate clone zaps.

When I took a look at the database, I found that he also had a whole host of clone "ups"... far more than the zaps he received.

So what I did was restore the 12 points that he's lost from clone zaps and subtracted about 60 points of clone "ups" for a net loss of 48 points.

I never heard from him again. :D

From my observation. Moderator will clear the posts written from moderated samster in open forum. They attend to newbie question. They scan the whole forum reading post by post and zap 6 points for off topic. They delete un-authorised thread. OKT who pay to start a thread for business will be attended to if OKT has a request. We therefore very difficult to get their attention.

After we reach 1744 points maybe :D. Economy very bad. From my perspective, its quite hard for newbies to get points nowadays. Those with power chin chye post also can get points, as they can "return the favour". Even posting something controversial will very unlikely hurt them, as there will always be more uppers than zappers.

Whereas once a newbie post something that gets misinterpreted, he'll get zapped until moderation with little chance of recovery. And there are cases of people who got zapped until moderation for no reason, like ahpui99. Its like the rich getting richer and poor getting poorer. Even if someone with no power posts something good, the chances of him getting upped is much much less than someone with the ability to up back.

The reputation system manages to expose the ugly side of human nature, and it closely reflects what will happen in real life. For instance, in the "auctioning of virginity" saga, whereby lessons of "not flaunting your wealth", "retaliation will attract more animosity", "it is hard to fight a war without allies" and "common hardship unites more than common gains" can be drawn.

you dont need alot of rep points to have high power.
40 rep points will be enough to give you rep power.

every member is given 1 rep power for every year they are in the forum,
so if u have been in the forum for 10 years, you get 10 rep power.

here is an example

samster A join date is 01 Feb 2003, with 40 rep points
he will have 11 rep power.

samster B join date is 01 feb 2013 with 1000 rep points
he will have 1 rep power

samster B join date is 01 feb 2013 with 3001 rep points
he will have 2 rep power

your join date is 20-11-2012.. so come 20 nov 2013,
you will have a rep power of 2. ;)
