if u look at at our signings except maybe for lambert, it looks like BR is signing players for the future..not to win the league nxt season...it will take awhile for the players to adapt to the english game..we might not even finish in the top 4..despite last seasons surprise challenge.

Need some clarification from diehard Liverpool fans.... I had ordered an LFC jersey from the club website and received it by DHL courier..... since I ordered it from the official club website I assume my jersey should be genuine right?
But looking at this picture above I noticed my jersey does not have the BPL logo on the sleeve whereas Javier is holding up a jersey with the BPL logo. Did I get scammed and given an imitation jersey?
Did anybody else order direct from the club? How does your jersey look like?

It's confirmed real. If you have doubts, you can always email them. Their email reply is pretty prompt. The BPL badges can be added at Queensway. The point of buying your jersey direct is to print the name and number behind the jersey. The fonts are different. The number will come with a Liverbird logo in it. The printing is much nicer when you order direct from Liverpool. The cost plus shipping isn't that high right? Close to what you can get from Weston?

I have been ordering direct from LFC online store for the past few seasons..
You have to pay to add the logo/badges, names or numbers..
One problem with purchase online is you cannot try the size, my L size 2014/15 away jersey seems a little bit larger than previous season jersey..

Hey bro, do not worry. The items are 100% authentic from the LFC website, just that there are options to add the BPL sleeve patches as well as printing of names and numbers in BPL or LFC font type. If you did not select those options, chances are you'll receive an authentic but plain jersey without any printing of sleeve patches or name and number :)

You maybe right, but hopefully not at the expense of a top 4 CL place, which has to be a minimum requirement if the Reds are to progress and go forward.

Tika taka seems to be passe, especially after Brazil WC14. Die Mannschaft , Chile, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid's style of play now seems to be the way to play.
Having watched several pre-season friendlies games of the other BPL teams.... it seems many have changed their style and are adopting Liverpool's strategy and attempting to play like them. :D
It may not be easy for Liverpool to win or score at will like the way they did last season.

Wow really hope there is some truth to the above and not wishful thinking because if some truth then this would indicate that FSG do indeed have a real intent to bring the Reds forward. Ditto for the Marcos Reus rumour.

Oh dear, just like what I suspected, too good to be true, looks like both Falcao and Cavani ain't headed anyway close to Anfield.
Like you said, Falcao appears headed for the Bernabeu, his personal terms alone are way beyond what the Reds can afford.
As for Cavani, looks like he is now staying put in Paris, at least for the coming season.

Originals as in authentic? I dun think any shop here retails them except for the LFC fans club..... even the fan club has limited supplies allotted to it from LFC so I do not think the other shops have access to the originals unless they go through a 3rd party vendor..... which means you pay through your nose for the product.
Buy online from the LFC store is more convenient and cheaper.... and delivery is very fast. My order arrived within 3 days. :D

I checked out Weston..... I think I know the reason the staff are hostile to Liverpool fans.... because the Liverpool jerseys they carry are not authentic originals and they must have been f*cked by true blue LFC fans who know their stuff for trying to pull a fast one. :D
Funny though is that the jerseys of the other clubs like Man U, Chelsea or Bayern Munich in their shop are authentic originals except for the Liverpool ones.
Btw, they also sell cheaper versions of the originals. :D

With Arsenal captain completed move to Barca Toure also on the move , does it mean Agger will stay put on Liverpool !?
I still think that a good striker should be sign as I still not very convinced tha Sturridge can fill the void left by LS
This coming season will be even tougher for us . Rivals like Chlesea and Man city are strengthening their squad , Spur last season recruit look set to be a challenge for the fourth spot after getting a new manager . But what dismay me is that our biggest rival Manure looking good on the pre season tour . Everton is another team should be wary of
We are building a team for future but we need to be realistic that modern football can be cruel as all the top player want to play CL and get high pay . Without European football it could be prove crucial for the team

Yes, 7 pts will be great, 9 pts fantastic, 5 pts (spurs draw) also acceptable n nothing to be ashamed of, but pls don't lose to Saints at home! Opening home game n a 'weakened' Saints somemore! I still remembered how Saints beat us 0-1 at Anfield last season, breaking our 4 match unbeaten run, in a match we controlled but did not convert our chances.
View it positively, it might be good to play top opponents early in the season. When the teams are still in 1st gear n trying to gel. ManC only got their momentum goin towards the half of last season.

REPLACING SUAREZ PROVING THE IMPOSSIBLE JOB
Brendan Rodgers has continually insisted this summer that Liverpool will not hit the panic button in the transfer market.
He said it when Luis Suarez's transfer to Barcelona was confirmed and again when the Reds pulled the plug on Loic Remy's move to Anfield over a supposed problem with his medical.
Yet there are signs that the opposite might be the case behind closed doors at the Merseyside club.
In the last week, Liverpool have made attempts to sign Ligue 1 stars Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani.
Their ambition to even consider signing two of the most coveted strikers on the planet is commendable, but in reality they have no chance of signing either player.
Liverpool may have returned to the Champions League this season, but they have realised this week that it does not mean they can now shop in Harrods.
The signings they have made this season show very much that the Reds are still in the second tier when it comes to the transfer market.
IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE? | Suarez was nothing short of a revelation last season
All of the players who have arrived at Anfield would have done so regardless of their Champions League qualification, especially given Liverpool's global status and significant riches.
The pool of players in which Liverpool are shopping can strengthen the squad significantly as they prepare to fight on several fronts while mounting another title challenge after last season's second-placed finish.
But they won’t be able to replace Suarez.
Tottenham could not replace Gareth Bale, Arsenal could not replace Robin van Persie, and Liverpool will not be able to replace Suarez.
How can you? It was not just his 31 goals that made Suarez so electrifying last season. His leadership, flair, audacity and sheer will to win all need to be replaced, too.
Rodgers has been bullish when asked whether Liverpool risk repeating the considerable mistakes made by Tottenham when they sold Bale last summer.
"It's a different club and different vision we have here. At Liverpool there's a strategy behind what we are doing," he said.
The moves for Falcao and Cavani suggest, though, that the strategy includes buying a star name to replace the hole left by Suarez and to lead the attack.
Alexis Sanchez would have been perfect but he turned down Liverpool to move to Arsenal.
Now they are looking at audacious moves for players who are either out of their price range or beyond their pull of attraction. The whole world knows that, if Falcao leaves Monaco, his most likely destination is Real Madrid. It's unrealistic.
If Liverpool can land a big-name attacker, it will give them a huge boost ahead of the new campaign, but they are finding out just how hard it is to replace LS.

Keita? at first i thought it was the footballer in his 30s who plied his trade in Italy and Spain. then i googled ... this lad's only 19 yo and the asking price was a whopping 24m pounds! Call me suaku, but i hv not heard or watched him play. Will it be too huge a risk to invest in such a young guy? Apparently he was also linked to Devils.
Liverpool have been told they can have striker Keita Balde Diao for £24million after opening talks with Lazio over a deal.
The Reds turned to the 19-year-old this week as they continue their hunt for attacking options following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
Keita is rated as a big star in Italy and Liverpool began talks this week, initially offering £15.8million for his services, which Sky Italia says was rejected.
However, Brendan Rodgers remains in the hunt for the forward and has been told by Lazio that they will sell him they up the offer to £24million.
The former Barcelona man has scored five times in 23 matches for Lazio and has previously been linked with a switch to Manchester United.

Suso is a good player, he has proven himself time n again but perhaps he doesnt fit into BR's game plans or he doesnt hv much 'yuan fen' with the manager. Will be sad to see such another young talent leave.

last season we got 9/9 in the 1st 3 matches n 13/18 in 6 matches without Suarez. Other than the match agt Devils, the other 5 were relatively 'easy' matches but in 1 of the 5 'easy' matches, we lost to Saints!
last season we also managed an emphatic 5-0 big win at white hart lane. we owed it to the Uruguayan who scored a brace n was largely instrumental in the rout. Pool also played well agt City at Etihad but we were unfortunate to lose.
like what bro Lambo said, if we play like a typical Liverpool team, I wont be surprised if we get only 3 points or less. hopefully our largely revamped squad will ensure it would not happen!

Comments from some authors,
With the greatest respect to Rodgers, this is an absolute joke scenario
* In a Champions League year, it's just ridiculous that Liverpool are struggling to sign a half-decent striker. The Loic Remy deal failed, but where are the other targets? Rodgers and his alleged scouting team should have a list of 10+ viable options, not - as seems to be the case - just one or two.
* It was obvious that Suarez would leave this summer, and Rodgers has had a whole year to prepare for that eventuality. Yet, with less than a week to go before the new season begins, the best the club can come up with is a 33-year old mercenary whose best years are well in the past.
* Liverpool have an extensive scouting infrastructure in place, and even head-hunted a couple of Man City scouts to lead the team. What are they doing, exactly? From where I'm standing, the scouting team is doing a pretty poor job if it's unable to come up with a list of viable targets.
* The club has 75m from the Luis Suarez sale available, so even if Wilfried Bony is considered expensive, just pay the money already. The Ivorian is clearly a target, so that means Rodgers rates him, and he's proven over the last year that he's a top class Premier League striker. That said, if Fabio Borini is worth 14m, how is 19m for Bony - an infinitely more effective striker - considered 'expensive'?
* Additionally, what is the point in bringing in 33-year old Eto'o when Liverpool already have 32-year old Rickie Lambert? Yes, Eto'o has Champions League experience, but if Sturridge gets injured, he and Lambert are just not going to cut it.
Jan Molby, "Imagine from Luis Suarez to Samuel Eto'o and Rickie Lambert in the space of two months. It's literally a case of going from the sublime to the utterly ridiculous."
Personally, Arsenal is doing much better in transfer than Liverpool

Not only that the transfer committee keep on dragging their feet . Keep on negotiating for a cheaper price for a player. The whole world knows that Liverpool FC now have money to spend 60 million pounds and 75 million pounds. It would have been simpler to ask the club directly how much they are willing to let the player go for. Example if the release clause 16 million euros why don't Liverpool just top up with another 2 million euros and be done with it.

If Eto'o actually lands up at Anfield and Remy heads to the Bridge, I hope Eto'o proves Jose wrong and Remy turns out to be a problem for Chelsea, if not the management at Anfield would look like a pack of jokers!:(

You quoted from Jamie K. His opinions always seem to try to provoke debate. More debate means more people visit his site. More people visit his site means he earns more money.
It is easy to criticise but you got to bear in mind the fact that we did sign a lot of players this transfer window. It is not easy to sign a top player, let alone many top players at the same period in time. Lallana can back up as a No 9 I feel. Lallana can play like Peter Beardsley.

Ironically I just read somewhere that now that Drogba has got an injury, Jose may be looking at Loic Remy as another back up striker at Chelsea!
If Eto'o actually lands up at Anfield and Remy heads to the Bridge, I hope Eto'o proves Jose wrong and Remy turns out to be a problem for Chelsea, if not the management at Anfield would look like a pack of jokers!:(
Liverpool REALLY need 2 more strikers to replace LS. They also need a backup goalkeeper.

Like that bo pian what.. sigh. Whoever we sign may also get injured. If we add in a striker just to cover injury, our wage bill will be very high. When everyone is fully fit, we are going to end up with a bench full of high earning substitutes. Now got financial fair play, not so easy to feed a bench full of high earning substitutes.

The criticism was right, nail it. Our transfer policy is a complete laughing stock when dealing with Suarez's departure. Eto still can score a few goals, but we are going from a £75m player regarded as the best striker in the world to an old, well past his sell by date Eto. This is Liverpool, with prestige heritage not any other FC.
Should Sturridge gets a long term injury, is this the player we can then rely on, playing 90 mins, 3 matches a week? Anyway, as a Liverpool fan, hopefully we sign another Roger Miller, Eto...

Liverpool do have 4 competitions that they are involved in right ? Also what happen if DS or RS got injured or worse still suffer a dry spell ? Who is going to fill the void ? It would be nice to see the firepower even on the bench. It would give BR more options.

exactly...reason why Pool dun sign any unproven player just becos we have money to spend...really for me dun mind to give Eto a one year short contract who can come to help our youngsters and when Pool need strikers to rescue game...Eto did some damage to Pool last season...otherwise we should had been crowned...flashback to our poor decision on Andy Caroll...:)

honestly, i would feel quite disappointed if Pool signs Eto as a 'last resort' or as a 'desperate measure'. i mean, they have enough time to source for a striker. Im sure before World Cup, they may already know (or sense) Suarez' desire to leave. but why it's so difficult for us to lure a marquee striker remains a BIG question mark.
i dun really like the idea of havin 2 'senior citizens' in Lambert n Eto in the team. true, Eto can bring his wealth of experience to the team n mentor the younger players. if Lambert wasnt signed, then I'd quite like the idea of Eto comin in to tide us thru at least til the next transfer window. but im not sure if both players would struggle if they are asked to play 70 mins week in week. as some bros mentioned, Sturridge is injury proned n we could be in trouble if he's out on a lengthy spell.
if only Origi could play for us this season, that would have been the ideal solution to these temporary worries.

Based on last season's performance, yes I think he justifies a pay rise.
The pay rise may be a steep one but in modern day football, which footballers are paid astronomical wages, if u dun pay Raheem 'market rate' other suitors might snatch him away.

Raheem Sterling was a product of Crystal Palace's youth development programme.... he did not come up through the Liverpool FC age groups. His breakout year was playing for CP in the U-17 age group tournament where he was spotted by scouts from Man U, Spurs, Arsenal & Liverpool...... we were lucky he choose Liverpool over all the other clubs and spent a year at the LFC Academy before BR gave him his big break.
He has the potential to be a World Class footballer..... hope he doesn't get too big headed and get distracted and lose his way like George Best.

In modern football, only a handful is like our faithful, SG. As long as a club is willing to pay significantly higher in salary, chances of him going is high. RM or Barca will not hesitate to pay 300k per week for a good player.

According to Phil Thompson, the Reds had an opportunity to buy the young Cristiano Ronaldo, but Houllier and the management were not prepared to risk £13m on an unproven 17 year old talent, Fergie then spotted him when United played Sporting and the rest as they say is history.
Back to the present, apart from Sterling, it appears that new signing Lazar Markovic may have great promise, some pundits even liken him to be the next Messi?! Well let's hope that this pans to some extent at least.

so if no Eto signing n Borini leaves, how? Pool could be forced to play with a lone striker. we might also be forced to push 1 of the midfielders to play striker role (who knows, maybe Raheem or Coutinho could find a new effective role as striker??? :D). Bro as I see BR bought a number of attackers but not up front strikers, it may also mean he is into the play style like Spain. As he did mentioned he is more into those pass until you die type of style and that's why we see he sign more attacking mid and shore up his defence but make the striker least important.
His play style as you can see in the last game vs BVB where the goals are from. He wants to goal contribution not only from a single sources, he intend to make his attacking mid score more goals. He doesn't want to just tie down by conventional type of style and want more option type of style.

Liverpool is still very much interested in Radamel Falcao despite the player hoping to join Real Madrid who have spent £90million to sign James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos, and Keylor Navas. Liverpool is wishing to persuade Falcao, who needs to be paid more than £200,000 a week, to join Brendan Rodgers. Monaco are asking for a £12million loan fee.

Reds were sluggish especially in the 2nd half, both Lucas and Gerrard were pretty poor. Lady luck was with Liverpool today , but like the rest have said, 3 points in the bag is all that really matters.
Lambert also needs a goal to boost his confidence asap.
Hope to see more balance, zest and energy from the Reds in the next match and beyond.
Still have Lallana, Markovic and Moreno to add to the mix as well and just maybe another worthwhile striker.

Overall a very shaky performance especially after the first half. Credits to Southampton, they really came at us in the second half and the equalizer had been coming for some time.
In my opinion, new boy Manquillo played very well. A pity he was booked.
Lucas was very sloppy in his passing and tracking back. If we had another holding midfielder to complement Gerrard, I'm sure he won't be in the starting XI.
The forward 3 of Coutinho, Sturridge and Sterling needs to press more from the front and play closer to the midfielders. Seems like only Henderson and later on Allen were the only ones doing all the closing down and high pressing.

Manquillo have the quality playing as attacking right back he just need to tune into BPL play style.
As for the mid. It looks like Lucas heart is not there I thought Allen should be a better choice vs City. We really need some closing down when vs City.

Hard fought 3-pts...
Manquillo had a good game, look to be a steal if he continues to improves... hope to see Moreno soon too...
Gerrard is not a defensive midfielder, he does not have the legs anymore. he is now more of a deep laying playmaker and needs a tough tackling DM to play alongside with.
Lucas did not play well and Allen is not a DM too, so we ended up leaving too much space in front of our back 4 in the match. Will be in big trouble when playing against Man C..
Can seems to be our best option to partner Gerrard, hope to see him in action next week...
Lambert came on and worked his socks off. He offered an useful alternative in our attacks from the bench..

I see that Can may need a few more games to adjust to the BPL style. He is still shacky during the pre seasons. lets hope he can find his pace soon.
As there is no better DM, Allen was kinda make to run around chasing ball and this could be happening during MC's game as MC's player really need to be close down esp their wings. Lucas seems kinda slow and he like to give silly free kick near danger area.
As for Moreno, he should be able to come in and fill the LB void as I sense he had no problem at all. He can't made it for the Saint's game because of his paper work not done in time and can't register for that game.
MC's game should get in Markovic and lallana readay and playing as we need more options Vs team like MC...I can see Sterling and coutinho will be heavily marked tgt with the main striker.

A lot of work for BR to do.
I always like a team to build on their success...even though win ugly but ultimately we win...dun like teams to feel the complacency and then get caught in bad period...Pool worked hard to secure the win and then hold on the ball to win...winning is enough...in the past we dun hold on enough like MU and Che...we tried to score more goals but then we got punished on the defence...:)
we had change the defence with Lovren and Manquillo...think BR will change more after trying out Moreno and others...:)
I see Lucas and Johnson days numbered...impressed with Henderson improvements...:)
I knew BR wants to make Sterling a big star...so no hurry to sign big name Striker if non available...now is Sterling to shine on the big stage if he can emulate many big names in the past...:)

Some post match observations after emotions had cooled down.
1) I see some positives in the games. Certain players stood out : Steerling , Sturridge , Henderson , Loveren and Manquillo all deserve ratings of above 6.5 from me .
2) The rest simply did not show up. Johnson and Lucas were the worst culprits.
3) Liverpool played well in the first half. Again same old same old. I guess old habits die hard.
4) Liverpool came alive again after the 2 substitutions were made. Well done by Rodgers.
5) The defense look better with Lovren organizing the back four. Mignolet was in sixes and sevens in the first half. His saves in the second half however helped Liverpool to win 3 points.
6) A new SAS were born :)
7) It was an improvement. A win over Southampton compared to a loss last season.
8) Liverpool lacked the killer instinct upfront. Surely Liverpool need another an out & out striker. We can't depend on SAS all the time.
9) Referee had a good game.
10) Southampton took the game to Liverpool in the second half and was unlucky not to get an equalizer.
11) At the end of the day 3 points was all that matters.
12) Liverpool can survive without Luis Suarez.

These sort of deals, actual price is hard to ascertain. Good example would be the price Barca paid for Neymar which caused a huge controversy, so much so that the then Barca president had to resign. Personally think the Suarez deal was actually closer to £75m, possibly could have even been more?

Disciplinary records aside, for a 24 yo who has won many honours n scoring goals consistently, EUR16m seems a 'bargain buy'. You can't say he's a marquee like Suarez or Falcao ... U can't say he belongs to the league of say, Bony or Remy ... Maybe somewhere in between ... Someone who could weave magic, pull a rabbit out of the hat n win crucial games for his team.

BR prefers a striker who suits our passing style, one who will run back to help out in defence.
Seen Mario play for AC, MC n Italy, he's the kind of player (u can say lazy) who always wait for the ball deep upfront n seldom run back to help out in defence.
I feel he's more of a selfish than team player in general but when he scores goals they can be quite spectacular.

Oh boy oh boy, woke up to the news of BR doing a complete U turn and going for Balotelli! From one mad genius to another perhaps? Very risky move, but I guess the stakes are so high with regards the competition for a top 4 CL spot this season that the Reds have decided to hold their breath and roll the dice. It probably is going to be a rollercoaster ride of fun and disaster this season, so hold on to your hats. Hopefully much more fun, excitement, genius and goals!
Also just read that Liverpool still keen on bringing Eto'o to Anfield. Eto'o and Super Mario were teammates at Inter, so hopefully some complementary factor kicking in as well.
Must say, am personally excited with the above prospects, notwithstanding the obvious negatives.

Actually from what I have read thus far, the Balotelli deal still hinges on the outcome of BR's face to face meetings with Mario. The outcome is still uncertain notwithstanding all the hype, so much so that Eto'o is being used as a safety alternative should the Balotelli deal break down on Monday.
So what I posted earlier on Eto'o is now apparently incorrect, there shall be no dual signing, it is either Mario or alternatively Eto'o.
Looks like the Reds were really trying their best to land Falcao, but when this was not going to materialize, they turned their attention to Mario.

Balotelli now just about a done deal, so appears Eto'o has to look elsewhere, maybe even theToffees might take him onboard. Back to Super Mario, it seems the Gooners twice turned down an offer to buy him, so the gamble has been taken up by the Reds.

Let's be honest and frank about Balotelli's transfer, no other big club was willing to take the risk and the Reds only took the plunge because they appear to have few viable options left.
We just got to hope that Mario is finally going to cool it down, at least to a more reasonable level and just let his magic boots do the talking from now on.
By the way, on Mario's red card history, apparently Mourinho has a favourite story to tell with regards this aspect!
During a CL match between Inter and Rubin Kazan, Jose only had Mario available as striker and in the first half, Mario was already yellow carded. At half time, Jose spent 14 of the 15 minutes specifically talking to Mario, telling him whatever happened in the next 45 minutes, avoid any other yellow card/red card incident at all costs. Well guess what, in the 46th minute, Mario was red carded:D!!

Personally, I'm hoping that both will start the match.
A left footed left back will give us balance and Glen Johnson is better off playing at right back, even though I feel Javier Manquillo can defend better, while Lazar Markovic has pace to burn and he will give us width on the wings.

Frankly, with his temper, he will scream back at SG... happened before. The only hope is, he controls his temper, partner well with DS and play as team.
He is a good player, hopefully with his addition, with a bigger and better squad, we are better equip to challenge the title this season. This coming match will show the rest of the teams, we mean business even without Suarez:D
I rather not think about challenging for the title at this early stage of the season. Top 4 CL spot is more realistic and of utmost importance for now. Anyway looks like it is going to be a real tough fight as even Spurs now coming up as an early dark horse and with United still in the transfer market, this season could even be tighter than the last for a top 4 spot, being sought by 7 clubs.
Back to tonight, come on you Redmen!

Alberto Moreno caught ball watching as he tried to clear the ball while Jovetic intercepts and scores.
Daniel Sturridge needs to be in the penalty box more often as we have a lot of the ball at the wide areas but no one is available to cross to.

Injuries to Johnson, Skrtel and Moreno towards the end of the match :(
Really hope to see Manquillo play in the next match instead of Johnson regardless of his injury or not. He has been very poor against Southampton at left back and against Manchester City at right back.

Frankly, nothing to be ashamed of losing at Etihad.
But the manner we were exploited time n again, conceding 3 was worrisome. Our defence was napping n could have easily conceded more.
Bright spot, Marko had a good debut. Lambert is fast becoming a super sub.
Hopefully the game was a good learning experience for our youngsters Moreno n Can.
Very very strange to see 3 of our players injured within a space of 5 mins. Luckily it was towards the end else the result could hv been more humiliating.

BR now have a wake up call...not to be complacent and felt invincible...:)
think time for players to pull up their socks...Lovren is not the top defender we expect yet...but can improved...:)
it is still very early in the season...is not shameful which I agreed becos we lost to MC last season too...we won Southampton which we lost last season...so we still positive 3 points...Reds cannot afford to drop points next game as Spurs...:)

I only woke up to catch the 2H.
To summarise in one word – QUALITY – or rather the lack of it in our team against theirs.
It was a tale between their side full of marquees against our very young side with many potential future marquees.
Same old story, when it comes to the last third of the field, we often lacked ideas how to penetrate into the MC penalty box. But everytime MC launches an attack, our defence looked vulnerable and MC looked like they would score.
We are still very much a team in the rebuilding phase. Our young players need time to gel and blend. I’m not sure if you guys feel the same but thus far, I feel SG, Johnson, Coutinho and Lucas have not performed to expectations. I sincerely hope, when it’s time for BR to wield the axe on senior players who do not perform he must do so. Don’t be pressured to field a player juz cos of his reputation or if he had cost us a bomb.

I'll take any result if we avoid defeat at white hart lane. Spurs are in good form at the moment, their players are starting to gel whereas for ours, it's still like boyfriend n girlfriend juz started dating, need time, maybe months or even one season to forge an understanding.
I may sound like a pessimist but I think I'm a realist. Frankly, 4-6 pts to kick start the first 3 games will not be too bad a result. I would say for the Spurs game, I'm much more confident we'll avoid defeat than the MC one. Spurs lack the all round strength in all depts like MC. Whilst Spurs are quite impressive in their attacks, their backline is also vulnerable like Pool.
Let's hope we can get a good result this weekend. We need to get that confidence back!

I think Moreno is a good player. It is very harsh to criticize Moreno for the first goal. What kind of a header was that from Lovren? The header was so bad that Moreno was caught off guard. Mignolet is very disappointing.
The biggest tactical mistake was playing 1 striker. Sturridge is too predictably. We are much better in the past 2 matches with 2 strikers.

Good post!
Looking at City and the quality of players' yet to be fielded like Mangala, it is quite frightening. Also ,Toure and Fernando were massive against the Reds. Early days but seems like City and Chelsea are in a different league altogether.
Back to the upcoming Spurs game, actually think this one is a 6 pointer with regards to the fight for the remaining 2 top 4 CL spots. Liverpool really need to come away with at least a point. Fingers crossed Balotelli shall be in Super Mario form!

£20 million is considered a reasonable deal as Liverpool paid £15 million for him in 2012.
Rodgers should jack up the price slightly since LVG is desperate to revamp his midfield.

Didn't expect Allen to be worth so much. Lol. Esp for someone who has not been a regular n struggling to get a place in the squad. 20m is a good deal but I am sceptical if MU is genuinely interested.

Not all Lovren's fault. The 3rd goal clearly is Mignolet's fault. He was totally out of position. The other 2 goals belong to the wing backs. Skrtel was excellent in defense. Only he and Lovren should communicate more. Agree that Liverpool must defend and attack as a team. Liverpool simply lost to a better team.

Shaqiri will be a good addition but Liverpool has Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, and Markovic in the attacking role.
However, I do remember Rodgers playing Coutinho deep in Midfield in one match and this boy was really pulling the strings well.
