Mentioning this will damage Thai massage culture. These palours have license to operate as traditional massage but deep inside, it is purely paid sex. This has been well known for many years, ask any Thais.... unless u telling others, the authority is saint from outer space, they dunno about this ... simple, big money are involved.

Once the money is sorted out, Nataree will be inviting dragon and lion dance again....

A raid on a large Bangkok brothel notorious for its 'soapy massages' has found underage sex workers and logbooks detailing big kickbacks to corrupt cops and officials, investigators said Wednesday.

Thailand's police force has a reputation for graft, but it is rare for authorities to reveal so clearly how the protection rackets work.

More than 100 officers from Thailand's Interior Ministry raided Nataree Massage, which is in downtown Bangkok and popular with locals and foreigners.

During the Tuesday evening raid they found documents detailing alleged payments worth thousands of dollars to police and city officials.

"The account book with the hush money is very clear in detailing which agencies and persons received the money. Most are police and police agencies," Ronnarong Thipsiri, director of the Territorial Defence Office, which was involved in the raid, told AFP.

"We did not inform police ahead of the raid because we had information that they were benefiting from this operation," Ronnarong added.

A photograph of one log book page, taken by local reporters who joined the raid, showed more than $10,000 worth of payments made to multiple police officers and law enforcement agencies over a 20-day period in March this year.

Ronnarong, who said the photo was legitimate, added that one section of the brothel's account book showed 19 million baht ($539,000) in takings, though he did not say over what period of time the money had been made.

The raid also uncovered multiple underage sex workers under the age of 18 inside the brothel, most of them foreign - a stark reminder of how impoverished teenage migrants continue to be lured into Thailand's sex trade.

Ronnarong said around 90 per cent of the 121 women found working in the brothel at the time of the raid were Myanmar nationals, primarily ethnic minority women from the two country's border regions.

"Three held documents proving they are under the age of 18," he told AFP, adding that investigators believed at least 12 others were suspected of being underage.

Prostitution is technically illegal in Thailand but is ubiquitous across the country.

Despite its reputation as a global sex tourism destination, the vast majority of sex work caters for locals.

Because of their criminalised status, brothel owners and sex workers often have to offer protection payments to police or criminal gangs to ward off arrest or closure.

Activists have long advocated for the trade to be legalised to better protect the many women, men and transgender people who sell sex commercially.

But it is a cause few politicians have been willing to embrace in a country that remains socially conservative when it comes to sex.

The head of Bangkok's police force, Lieutenant General Sanit Mahathavorn, told reporters on Wednesday he had appointed a task force to investigate the hush money payment allegations.

Multiple large brothels, which have not been raided, also operate in the area.

It is true that most of this raid in the past has been PR exercise at best but looking at the pattern of enforcement in recent years under the military govt, it may not be entirely for show. One major point that stick up like a sore thumb is that NATAREE is probably the only outlet in the whole Ratchada stretch that employ many Myammar nationals and this is the reason where the place has over hundreds of very young girls while the other outlets have like a few dozens at any one time and mostly Thais. this fact is also cited in the report "....around 90 per cent of the 121 women found working in the brothel at the time of the raid were Myanmar nationals, primarily ethnic minority women from the two country's border regions....''

this is also the reason the place attracted many Asian foreigners. and it certainly won't escape the attention of the competing arb nam next door that the outlet is the only one ''able or allowed?'' to serve up so many foreigners.

this could be a crackdown more on illegal human trafficking to please the foreign NGOs, which is obsessed with human trafficking, consensual or otherwise, and compounded by extra pressure on the right place at the right time from competing arb nam taking advantage of the situation. We are well aware that the Thai authority will never embark on a full-blown crackdown on prostitution, regardless of what the official position is, unless they want to risk social and economic breakdown.

However, in recent years, the military authority has proven to be more serious in enforcing the closing hours of nightspots, although, it is sporadic and seem to ebb and flow. In recent memory, I don't recall any other similar raid where the outlet location and names are so clearly and sensationally shown in Thai media. In many other past reports involving crime, suicide, accidents etc, individuals and location are reported with no such specifics. this time, they even showed the book listing how much bribes have been paid and to whom, which is too overt not to suggest that this is meant to bring down some people somewhere. correct me if I am wrong...

My take is Nataree could be back in business but with different name and significantly less foreign workers...

I end up going to Poseidon with 2 x Ah tiongs who also visited nataree. Paid 3200 for their university student. Afterall Poseidon room n bathtub is still the best. FYI, if you are judging from the ability to speak Thai, the Myammars can speak Thai, same as the Myammars in Danok.. many of them really are from the tribes staying at the Thai - Myammar border

I thought this is a known fact among seniors here, given how obvious the pool of workers in NATAREE are different in quantity and features compared to the other outlets along the stretch. although, it remain to be seen, whether thats the genuine reason behind the raid.

Not exaggerated..... possibly true because most Myanmar girls will not tell you they are from Myanmar but will instead say they come from Chiangrai / Maesai / Phayao regions. Also many Myanmese children living near the Thai/Myanmar border actually go to schools in Thailand..... similar to JB children and Singapore schools situation. :D

That is probably why many gers DID NOT turn up for work when the raid happened. Normally full strength staff turnout is about 300 girls but they only nabbed 121 because many were tipped off about the raid. :D

Another rumour I heard about this raid is that Nataree management is close to Taksin & his family and a strong supporter of the "Reds".... and many of those names on the books alleged to have received payments are staunch red supporters as well..... ;)

A source said yesterday the entertainment venue staff must have been paying protection fees to policemen or officials because it employed foreign masseuses who were working illegally.

"These masseuses carried a blue card with an emblem of a lion on it. They have said they paid Bt1,000 a month to get such a card for immunity against any arrest or harassment by state officials," the source said, adding the masseuses had been told they could show the card when in trouble to officials or police in the Huai Khwang area only.

The source said not all masseuses carried the same blue card with some appearing to carry different-looking cards, raising speculation that each emblem on the card showed the agency that illegitimately provided protection. Another card carried the emblem of a tiger. Rumours have spread that many state agencies were involved in bribery by unregistered migrant workers, who might also have engaged in illegal sex work.

Last Tuesday, a taskforce from the Interior Ministry led police in a raid of the massage parlour in Bangkok's Huai Khwang district and detained 77 foreign women.

Authorities have since investigated whether they and their employer engaged in underage prostitution, human trafficking and bribery. In the wake of the scandal, Metropolitan Police Division 1 commander Maj-General Wichanwat Borirakkul, whose jurisdiction covers the Huai Khwang area, has received a transfer order.

Many a times I go onyx , I see tables of sg guys come in groups ( sausage party ) drink up and go back home alone. This is Bangkok. Not some SG Thai discos where pretty Thai girls will come say hi to u and sit with u. Not unless u will hang some flowers for her later.

If anyone want easy pick up , u can head to insanity/scratchdog/levels/mixx etc to pick up working ladies. The girls there are looking out for guys to go back.

The forum itself no longer provide latest info/updates ( at least for the Bangkok threads) on places to go. Most of the active posters are already out of the cheonging scene or not in Bangkok. The active ones who come often are reluctant to post their FRs after their trips. Lol.

A lot of such new places are not easily accessible by MRT/BTS. Unlike cowboy/Nana and nataree etc. Even so, many of such places might need to be able to speak some Thai. I would say for basic cheongsters the current places available in Bangkok are sufficient for 3-4 trips. Those who are frequently here in Bangkok would have found some kakis/ways to go to new found places. :D;)

I do agree, these are not the place to fish puyings. The next option is to get FL from other place to party with you in these disco. Maybe Thermae cafe is worth a try which is my agenda for next month trip.:D

Yes many tried fishing and in the end went back hotel room alone. But many Korean superstars still think onyx /route66 is like SG Thai discos where girls so easy to chat up and follow up. There is a difference between chilling out with friends and looking for a foreigner to hook up. Searching for Japan sushi in a Thai restaurant I would say. It's pretty hard but yet not impossible. But given the limited nights here, I suggest u go for the safer bet instead. ;)

i agree.. I also know a few thai friends and something new comes up, they will let me know and we go explore together on my next trip. I think it's more fun this way coz you never know what you would expect. If it's not something you expect to be, there are always other places to go.

Well Bro Francesco, I have been chionging Thai FLs almost 10years now. When I started chionging, the FL scene here is much more lively then now, high competition means better quality at a better price. Nowadays there are so many fake pics and FRs going around it makes me wondering if its worth the try or just stick to a few regulars you know you wont be disappointed.

The reason why i prefer going back to regulars is because they do introduce their friends sometimes too who is looking to make some extra bucks. Finding a girl to release isnt hard in BKK, lots of choices, only the attitude might flip 180degrees after back in the room. In SG its pretty much dominate by OKTs till date since the government is sending alot of hopefuls back at the customs.

Information on KTV in thaniya is vert limited and it will be good to have more information in this area. There is a blog i saw, $4000 baht for bottle of jack daniel, 2 girls charges, rooms, mamasan, tibits and that's about it. Quality of stock, playable hostess and other damages are not mentioned.

Virtually all of the KTVs offer “free flow” but they dun call it that. They have what they call a “set” ryokin (price). This is one fixed price for one hour that covers all customer charges. I dun think it includes a hostess. The “set” price includes all u can drink mizuwaris (house whisky on ice) or 2 beers. What is included can vary from house to house. Usually there are mamasans or girls who pass out flyers to people walking by advertising their set package. For newcomers, u should definitely use this bargain price because their pricing can get complicated. U usually can’t just walk in and order a beer.

Their pricing, or menu, is called a “system”. Msg shops also use the word “system” – just look at Mitu’s website. If u want to know about prices, ask what is the system.

Be forewarned that if u go a la carte, u can get charged for every little thing, like table charge, “charm” (mandatory snack food) and per song charge, that can add up fast. They dun tell u that there’s a charge for this and that. Check if the set includes a private KTV room or not.

Note that many regular customers opt for “bottle keep”. They buy a bottle of cognac or whisky and store it at the shop so that they can continue drinking from it on their next visit.

At traditional KTVs, I think u pay for a hostess by hour. If u have a bottle, I think they drink from ur bottle. Once I was at a “snack” and the girls behind the counter helped themselves to our beers. I found out later that they charged a LD drink for every glass of our beer they drank! I think that at the new style “lady’s bar”, u buy the hostesses LDs.

Unlike AGGs, the girls dun have to go with a customer, ie, be BFd. Some do, some dun. In a few KTVs, there’s no BFing at all. Customers go to those bars because they like young, fresh, maybe cherry girls to talk to, dance with, or rabble with. It’s better to check upfront what the girl is game to do.

There is often 2 kinds of BFs – a higher 1 if u just take a girl without singing, and a lower 1 if u sing, meaning if u stay for an hour. Maybe the guys just swing by and get some girls to go out somewhere else with them or order girls by phone, probably to accompany their clients to some fancy restaurant or whatever. It is worthwhile to stay for an hour and get the lower BF.

Most FHM models are a joke. So many yrs, name me 10 who made it in big media in Thailand since they are chosen from thousands.

Most models are not very tall in particular. Most range from 1.6-1.7. Please do not talk about someone of 1.2m tall. Most average Thai girls fall under 1.5-1.7m tall. :p a lot of these models used to be dark skinned / flat chest / average face when they are 12-15 year old btw if u do know them in person or reality.

Only SOME are in the escorts industry. Not all. It's just stereotyping everyone. Just like degree holders of the same relevant industry of some sort. Why some are paid more and some are paid lesser graduating from the same NTU/NUS? I have an upcoming trip to BKK/Patts during our National Day long weekend travelling there from 06.08.16 till 10.08.16

However I was informed by my Thai friend that all bars/clubs/nightspots NATIONWIDE will be closed from 6pm on 06.08.16 until midnight on 08.08.16 due to the National Voting on some referendum. The sale of alcohol during this period is also banned including 7-11 & convenience stores. This ban will be enforced by the army.

Not senior but according to this chart, it means bars and clubs are highly be closed on 16th midnight 00:00am. Some bars maybe open later in the night on 16th at 8-9pm but only sell non alcoholic drinks. Business will be usual on 15th all the way until midnight where police/army will ask them to close at midnight -1am. All depending on how they want it to be. ;):p
