SK has been around for a very very long time since the 70s when they were the watering holes of the US forces. With the end of the Indochine wars and after the US withdrawal from LOS..... SK "died" and turned into a mini brothel district similar like our Geylang with brothels operating in every other house in the 80s to early 90s until Thaksin's government cleaned the place up. The brothels went underground and not operating openly and clubs opened instead. These clubs quickly became popular with the locals as most also double up as soccer betting centres in the pre-online era. I was brought there on my first visit by my bookie who introduced me to his agents :D I have been visiting that place regularly since then.

However the present SK scene has tamed down a lot compared to its heyday and with the current slow economic climate..... I am not surprised the Thais are getting desparate due to insufficient income. Such a scam would not have been heard of years ago..... I think it is only recently that they are starting to operate like their counterparts in the touristy areas like Patpong or Cowboy.

Ted99 is an fun club.... my regular papasan there is Ah Chung. They have a total of 4 Papasans & 6 Mamasans and over 100 girls. But be careful when choosing the girls as some of them are below 18. If they had not been ST by any customer by the time the club closes at 3am..... they are required to adjourn to the HarlemMusic Lounge to wait for customers. The Harlem is a brothel for the locals.

SK is still good place to relax ...... just make sure you get seasoned samsters to guide you along. :D

We had met up at Big C for dinner. I was with my pooying and R came alone. After hearing stories about SK from us..... R decided he wants to visit SK but since me & my pooying had other plans so R went to SK on his own. He can speak some simple Thai which unfortunately was not enough for him to be understood at SK. He went to Ted99..... had a bottle of Heineken for himself and one MILF to sit with him from 2130 till 0130 hrs..... he opened a bottle of whiskey (560 baht) for the MILF plus ordered a plate of somtum & a plate of fried fish. When he checked bin @ 0130hrs..... he was shocked that his bill came up to 7800 baht + the PPS wanted another 2500 baht for barfine the MILF even though R did not want to go with the MILF. PPS told him MUST pay barfine for her regardless of whether he wants to fuck her onot.

R refused to pay and he was not allowed to leave the club.... when he attempted to exit the door he was surrounded by several guys and forced back inside. He called the cops and whatsapp me an SOS. I reached Ted99 with my pooying at about the same time the cops arrived so we listened in to the PPS story to the cops. My pooying had a look at the bill which was written out in Thai. Apparently the bill included some 20 over shots of whiskey which the MILF had offered to the staff and dancers + some outside food which the staff ordered and claimed was a treat from R.

R denied giving out those free makan treat and the whiskey shots which the staff drank were from the same bottle that he had bought for the MILF so they should not be charging him for those shots as they had charged him for the bottle.

The cops were very bochap and told R to just up pay and there will no more problem..... as R did not carry so much cash with him he was escorted to the ATM next door beside the 7-11. But we were still not willing to settle this way so my pooying said call the army. She had their hotline number and cooked up some story about tourists being assaulted by gangsters outside the club. Shortly after a land rover with 3 MPs arrived. Very quickly the PPS offered to reduce the bill to 3000 baht + no need to pay the barfine. Apparently they were afraid of the army getting involved and even the cops were very subservient to the MPs.... just standing by timidly and reply krap... krap.... krap to everything the MP Sgt said. After paying the 3000 baht we hitch a ride in the land rover out to the main road where they dropped us off near to Mo Chit BTS...... during that time we learnt the army was already aware of such happenings as it was not the first time it happened. The Sgt advised foreigners to avoid that place if they are not au fait with the local system as it is easy for the operators to spot newbies and scam them. I also learnt that Ted99 / CHAT & Harvey Music Lounge belongs to the same owner and after closing time at 0300 am.... the girls of all 3 clubs will head over to Harvey Music Lounge which doubles as a brothel for the locals. You select the girl at HML and then proceed to the hotel about 50m behind for ST..... rates start from 500 baht to 800 baht a pop depending on the girl.

Even using...arai..in a slimplistic manner can arouse misunderstanding. Looking at a Thai and saying the word..arai...alone can make a Thai angry cos its construed the same as saying..wtf you want? Especially in a wrong tone..which is really important in Thai language.Thais say arai na. To make it really rude they say arai wa.

I have been to Thai school for more than a year but my Thai is still nowhere near kindergarten level. This my own assessment. I can read but not enough to read the newspaper. I can hold a basic conversation but when I go to Govt agencies I always speak English so I am not misunderstood.:)

According to my pooying this hotline number should be known to all locals and persons resident in Thailand as the army has been highlighting this number in their propaganda broadcasts in the media during the curfew and initial stages of the coup... unless you dun watch TV or radio during that period.... as my pooying is a student at Thammasart U she was given the number by the school authorities.

Visited BKK last week and did tour of usual establishments.

The Immigration Bureau has authorised 30-day extensions to tourist visas for residents of 48 countries and one territory (Hong Kong) in an effort to shore up tourism numbers hurt by the political crisis.

The policy went into effect yesterday. The bureau did not say how long it would continue, but it is likely to carry on through the rest of the year.

Earlier, the government granted a three-month visa-fee exemption for tourists from mainland China and Taiwan as another attempt to revive tourism.

Thawatchai said the 49 source markets in question generated about half of Thailand's total visitor arrivals, or roughly 13 million, last year.

Piyaman Tejapaibul, president of the Tourism Council of Thailand, said the policy would help attract a lot more tourists into the Kingdom and would restore the entire tourism sector.

"However, she urged the government to invest in Advance Passenger Processing machines at all entry points to prevent illegal immigrants or those on a blacklist from getting into the country.

Posting my Virgin review. Am currently in bangkok Soi 23 (Soi cowboy) with my gf, who allows me to visit MP. A few are along Soi 23. Tired citedine23 and Admiral Premier before which are budget ok. Relatively modern and all within walking distance. Chk with Tim if you need more info.
