Somchai said AOT will also operate shuttle buses between both airports as of Oct 1 to facilitate passengers who need to travel between both airports, with four shuttle buses running from 6am to 10pm every day and departing from both airports hourly through expressways.

Somchai said that the number of passengers at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport should drop by some 10,000 daily, from 130,000 daily now, as of early next month.

I a bit sensitive with spiritual side la. I stayed Asia Hotel years ago with my gf then, and never stay there again.

Get pressed is quite common for me, it did happen during my stay at Asia Hotel. But getting the feeling of stares is not common, which also happened in Asia Hotel.

When I overseas I sleep very little, but at Asia hotel I sleep more than usual but get very weird dreams and restless sleep. This sort of things only happen to me when there's spiritual encounters.

My gf didn't feel anything, except some chills in the night.

I second that the Sofitel Sukhumvit is a great new hotel. The hotel breakfast is good, and if you don't mind spending a little bit, the buffet lunch/dinners are awesome too.
(Ok, I'm a little biased because I'm platinum/diamond whatever in their loyalty program, so I always get a nice upgrade - but the regular rooms are very nice too)

To put things in perspective, it is not cheap to go Kapoo, given the level of service provided and duration of massage. Cost becomes cheaper if the kapoo is far away from city, as they cater to local thais and not tourists. The facilities provided also varies, some places have nice rooms but others are just basic but clean. And it is really inconvenient to reach these places unless your thai friend drives and been there before. Taking a taxi is also troublesome...most of the time they can't find the place as its normally in some ulu place and u have to call the spa and get them to give directions.

Let me share my experience of my visit to studio surprise @Soi 39. Its one of the places more easily accessible, near phrom phong BTS. First time went there just before midnight, it was closed, even though website indicate it closes late. Second time i was there just before 3pm, supposed to be open at 12pm. Dear Bros, for safety, I recommend the following:-

1) When shots are heard (but not seen), it is very dangerous to run around due to ricochet effect of rounds shot. Rounds tend to ricochet upwards due to their construct and greater density near the tip.

2) Lie flat with face facing ground and two palms covering the back of our head and elbows near both ears. When lying flat, try to figure out direction of shots and try to have our feet facing the sound of the shots (so if bloody round die die must hit me, hit my feet instead).

The above gives us best bet of survival. Trust me, was trained as such by SIB.

Also, revolvers are generally more accurate than pistols. From my observation, even hollywood actors hold the pistol with a better grip than that guy in the vid.

Watch Steven Seagal shows and you know what I mean.

Having taken repeated vacations in Thai soil over the years, I agree that Thailand is very safe for visitors.


Incidentally, may be worthy to stress another perspective about sanuk vacationing in LOS. I don't like sleeping alone in BKK or anywhere in Thailand. I have none of concern or fear of any outside event such as 'a knock at the door' while having a ST or LT girl in any hotel room in Thailand ---- Be it illegal or whatever does not sink in my mind at any time.

However, this is not the case in some other countries such as PRC, Vietnam. My observation is Vietnam does not 'welcome' single male sanuk tourists. There had been quite a number stories about bad treatment to single male tourists to PRC as well. I would be concerned if there was 'knock on the door' of the hotel room in the middle of the night that could lead to very nasty surprise for sanuk tourists.

When I was a solo noob back then I walked the streets in the wee hours of the morning but didn't feel unsafe. Of course keep some common sense and not wander into a dark alley which even in Sillypore I don't.

Besides gun toting "ah sia" and "gin naa kias", Bangkok is not Aleppo. Clubs have metal detectors but trigger happy the Thais are not. The incident at Hway Kwang was my only experience first hand during my posting there.

Bangkok is safer than Chang Ping I dare say. Vietnam & China are still technically communist countries so mongering is one of the "imperialist bourgeois" values that must be eradicated. Didn't the Chinese stamp your passport with "piao ji" (monger) in the past if you were caught engaging the services of a prostitute?

You do watch the news or hear from your Thai friends about the drunken brawls during festive period but that should not concern you if you just mind your own business.

The company said it will reduce the retail price by 30% for 100mg pills and 20% for 50mg pills, FDA secretary-general Pipat Yingseri said on Wednesday.
He said the Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO) has applied for the registration of generic sildenafil, the main ingredient in Viagra, to treat impotence in men. The product has been registered with trademark Sildegra and is priced at 45 baht for 100mg tablets and 25 baht for 50mg pills.
Viagra is currently priced about 200 baht a pill in the market.
The generic product will be available from Oct 1.
Dr Pipat said the private and government sector were cooperating to increase access to the medication and he believed that once cheaper pills were available then fake pills would disappear from the market within five years.
GPO managing director Witit Artavatkun earlier said Sildegra underwent two years of research and experimentation, including a process called bio-equivalence, to ensure its quality and its effectiveness compared to the original Viagra.
Initially, the GPO will produce 200,000 packs of the drug with four tablets per pack, or a total of 800,000 pills, to test the market.

Quick FR on Tarawadee Resort & Spa from last night

Got into BKK at 6pm ( excellent chilled Laurent Perrier Champagne on TG) after 5 nights of frantic mongering & hip-hopping in ( of all the places) Yangon & checked into Novotel Suvarnabhumi for just a night in transit.

Took a cab to Tarawadee ( 250 THB & 25 minutes) on a rather damp evening. Nice big lobby with large restaurant, excellent 5 piece live band, lots of pretty "models" sitting in banked rows across from the dining area. NO FARANGS ( just moi) and about 30 local patrons. Called over one of the many suited mama-sans ( Ms AE) and bought her a margarita ( the 1st of the 5 she eventually drank) . The rates range from something like 2800 to over 5000 for 1:30 hours. Asked for a "nice friendly" girl who spoke a bit of English so she called over pretty 22 year old AOM from BKK ( 4800 THB). Asked the ladies to order food , drinks while I steadily drank 2 large bots of Heineken. Ladies had 2 margarita's & 2 cherry liqueur's and munched away steadily for an hour. Paid bill for food/drinks/lady in advance so all were happy :)

Then took the elevator up to the regular room ( not VIP) ... nice large hotel-style room with excellent aircon, lots of clean towels & clean large bed, large open plan bathroom with large tub, sink & urinal ! Put tv on football & asked room service lady for 3rd large Heineken bot with ice. The state-run Transport Co Ltd will offer direct coach services between Bangkok and Vientiane and Bangkok to Pakse in Laos under a policy to boost transport networks with neighbouring countries.

Each destination will have one service a day using standard airconditioned buses and the one-way fare for both routes is 900 baht. The route from Bangkok to Vientiane will take 11 hours, leaving Bangkok at 8pm while the bus for Pakse leaves at 9pm and will take 13 hours.

Wuthichart Kalayanamit, president of Transport Co, said the two routes are an extension of two other routes while it has another seven routes running between Thailand and Laos such as Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang and Khon Kaen to Vientiane.

There are currently around 20,000 passengers travelling on the existing routes a year but the company expects 200,000 a year using intra-country service if there are more connections with other neighbouring countries. It plans two more routes to Cambodia this year 2012 and one to Myanmar in early 2013.

3) Also near Wat Pho, he was surrounded by pigeon cause there was a man throwing bird food around. The man pushed a handful of bird food to the reporter and asked the reporter to throw to the pigeon. In the end, demanded 500THB, after nego, the reporter paid 100THB.

4) Girlfriend scam, he met a 25 yrs old girl and interviewed her... she mentioned she has 3 bfs, 1 about 65 living in BKK and another 2 in oversea. The 1 staying in BKK gives her monthly 40kTHB.... the rest will transfer money to her regularly.

I think the program is called "SCAM CITY" (http://tvguide.starhub.com/) where this reporter goes to cities around the world notorious for certain types of scams. Shows every Weds & Sat here in Sillypore.

Bangkok is still dry now and usually rain in the late evening and night these few days...not much a problem. (if your hotel near MRT...still can use MRT to travel around...not advisable to use taxi because once rain....traffic is down to crawling for hours)

As for the "expected" storm hitting BKK this weekend, only few places might be affected (flash flood should be about 20cm high as claimed by the BMA)....but should not deter you from cheonging.

Having said so much, why dont u start learning some basic thai? That way u can increase your options and thai girls will appreciate it if u can speak thai with them too....u can go Paragon or Emporium and try it on the sales girls there....gd chance they can speak decent english too.

Actually whether Vietnam or Bkk is better depends a lot on individual expectation and experience they get from these 2 places.

Irodlak expects GFE na dhe got it in Vietnam while he did not have good experience in Bkk. Naturally Irodlak will feel that Vietnam is better.

Knowtender expects mongering places with other things to do for tourist, eg shopping, sight seeing etc. He got them all in Bkk and vietnam is short of these things. So naturally Knowtender thinks Bkk is better.

Simple formular:

Experience > expectation = you like the place
Experience < expectation = you don't like the place
