Its coke steamboat with chicken...to just explain it simply and briefly...its, sweet and sour and spicy soup with chicken meat....! Yes, u read me rite...coke! They use coke in the soup stock...i was skeptical...but then!! WA LAU !! SOLID MAN!:eek:

However, most of the gals there are WL waiting to catch a BIG FISH!!...some how they tend to go more for the farangs....and arabs...

tried the "singapore chicken rice" at Boon Tong Kiat at pracha uthit (towards ramkamhaeng). it is a branch of the Thong-Lor "singapore hainanese chicken rice"

nothing to rave about. had a bowl of bak kut teh, chai sim w oyster sauce, achar..

1) chicken - not bad. lose to chicken rice stalls in sg kopitiams.
2) chai sim w oyster sauce - acceptable.
3) achar - ermm. got that standard achar sour smell lo.
4) bak kut teh - sibei jialat. more like bak kut nam (water).

chilli sauce is not nice. din get to eat with the minced garlic. have dark soya sauce la.. thats all.

not satisfied, i went further to the 24 hrs joint (it sells bak kut teh as well). had tim sum and bak kut teh (again).

1) tim sum - limited choice. small sizes. 1 plate abt 20-30thb.
2) bak kut teh - has slightly more smell than the 1st one. but still loses to any sg kopitiam bak kut teh stall.

duno why thai shops cannot put in more flavour into their bak kut teh meh?? pepper + garlic or more herbs.. basically more flavour la.. its so unlike thais to eat something so bland..

later i going to the Krung Seafood opposite my house. damn hungry now. waiting for my babysitter to come and takeover shift.. :) btw, was reading this thread again and saw that someone mixed up this Krung Seafood with Kuang Seafood. Kuang Seafood is at Pinklao near Central Pinklao and Major cineplex. both of them looks the same.. but well, pinklao one is cheaper.

When you arrive at the airport, goes up to the departurel hall. There have many people alighting to depart, take those taxi. And just make sure they use meter.... so save the trouble of going down to basement, to pay and q for taxi.......

a good thai girl will ask you to flag those moving taxis and not go for the stationary taxis, they will try to nego with the taxis for meter and walk away with you from those taxis if the price they quoted are too expensive and bring you to take BTS instead...next time do this way ;):cool::D

Thanks bro for the info's. I think we took the cab at about 9pm. It was raining so we pretty much hopped into the first one and the driver did turn on his meter. BTS, we were not anywhere near a BTS, we were at Central Plaza. So far on both my trips I've not had any problems with the cab drivers except this one. Anyway, I let myself be carrot head for this gal. Can probably call it repay debt lah. Won't be going back to BKK anytime soon.

1. This is my second trip to visit my girl.
2. The cab driver was extremely talkative throughout the journey.
3. Cab driver even ask when I was leaving BKK.
4. The cab was the first in the queue when we were leaving after finishing our shopping.
5. When I questioned my girl (her english not good and I don't speak thai), she said the driver very talkative, she don't like.

To be fair, let's not taint majority cabbies with same brush. My experience (or fair share) is generally ok except for:
-Patpong/Suriwongse stretch (lined up on kerbside). Kns, like mafia (police protection I hear) on fixed rates and not meter. So little effort to hail 1 nearby or opposite pays.
-Those parked at hotel vicinity, waiting to pounce on airport deliveries. Again, just smile and move on to hail 1 outside.

And price of comfort, convenience beats bt3 sauna. Can always jump to nearest BTS or MRT. Also with a more than 1 or 2 pax, it may be cost worthwhile for short distances

Show Dancer - consider 1st class ger and some of them we can just pay 2000bth for LT and they also waiting to promote to MTV ger.
G-Club - 2nd class of ger, some are waiting to promote to show dancer, can get free LT sometime if follow those event organizer.
AGoo ger - lower class, can get LT which pay lot money.


This information is by my friend (a joker) in TV7, when i in bkk he did bring those show dancer to ask me to pick and he tell them I am event organizer in other country, nuahahahahaha
