So that is why I always advise people to buy a freehold condo which you can own under your name and involves less paperwork & more straight forward. Owning a condo is also a better option if you are not going to retire in Thailand soon or plan to use the place often because it is easier to rent out.

To own land the usual way is to create a Thai registered company with you holding 49% share and another 2 Thai nationals holding the majority 51%.

Or if you have a lot of $$$ u can also own up to one rai (1,600 sqm) of land for residential use, if u transfer a minimum of BHT40 million from abroad to invest in certain types businesses in Thailand.

Before going to Poseidon, I have visited other MPs such as Natatree and Emmanuel in the past and I didn't have high expectation going to Poseidon. I was wrong.

Inside Poseidon building, the interior is brightly lit, clean and welcoming. The fishbowl girls located in 2nd Floor. While the model girls (sideline) located on 3rd Floor. When you take the lift to 3rd floor, you will be welcomed by Mamasan to take a seat when you can ordered food and drink while deciding which girls you want to bonk. This is one of the main distinction compared to other MPs where there isn't much rooms or places for you to sit. Moreover, there is a few binders containing professional photos of ladies working there. All of them are model qualities (i.e. fair skin, thin, tall, killer smile...well you get the pictures). Sounds like u just got ripped off by your so called good thai local partners !!
There are lots of perils in starting up overseas and especially china and thailand. Finding the right trust worthy partner is the key or you have to be there yourself to oversee everything or else like in your case, your gonna get ripped off. If you are planning to do a legitimate business then engage in a Lawyer and a business consultant that helps foreigners set up business in BKK. Just google and u will find quite a few ! They will charge a set up and a consultation fee but i assure you that it will cost a LOT LESS THAN 1.5MBaht that you have spent. I went through all this hassle about 5 yrs ago when i started some business in BKK, went through hell and back but luckily i had a sifu to help me, teach me in the ways of thai !!.

My advice if unless u have time to be there to monitor, dun bother and cut your losses. BKK is bad but china is even worse(its like comparing evil to greater evil) great places to go for fucks but hard place to set up business, but once you do get over all those hurdles, the money aint bad at all.

I think your FIRST and BIGGEST mistake is tat u prob left the biz mainly to ur so called Thai Partners. So from then onwards, u are alrdy branded ROBERT. When u "entertain" was it mainly from your coffers?? Did your Thai partners help out??

Next can u speak thai or know the biz system here enuff to actually pump in tat kind of investment?? If u do not...did u at least get PROFESSIONAL HELP to do ur due dilligence?? As in Lawyers and Accountants that will take care of ur position (not those introduced by ur so call Thai partners).

I see 2 options for u now:

a. Cut loss as u said but try to recover as much as possible back from this. BUT do not leave the cut loss campaign to ur Thai counterparts alrdy...u need to be the one actively over looking this part now. U will need legal and accounting advise.

b. If u see that the biz is still worth the effort....engage some help to do due dilligence and INTERNAL audit now....and also ur legal (if they are competent) will know how to "push" these so called officials to pull thru wat they promised u in the first place. But again...u need to be more pro active and watch these from now.

Well, these are my thots....again...wat do I know...5555...:p....but from my regular dealings with Thai Officials....sometimes u just need to play hard ball and let them know they are not facing some newbie.

a. Cut loss as u said but try to recover as much as possible back from this. BUT do not leave the cut loss campaign to ur Thai counterparts alrdy...u need to be the one actively over looking this part now. U will need legal and accounting advise.

b. If u see that the biz is still worth the effort....engage some help to do due dilligence and INTERNAL audit now....and also ur legal (if they are competent) will know how to "push" these so called officials to pull thru wat they promised u in the first place. But again...u need to be more pro active and watch these from now.

Well, these are my thots....again...wat do I know...5555...:p....but from my regular dealings with Thai Officials....sometimes u just need to play hard ball and let them know they are not facing some newbie.

3 Dec – Thailand's transgender beauty, Nong Poy (real name Treechada Petcharat), who made her Hong Kong film debut in Benny Chan's "The White Storm", recently refuted rumours of romance with her co-star, Louis Koo.

Previously, rumours of a romantic relationship between the two spread like wild fire when Louis was observed flirting and teasing the 28-year-old actress during a dinner event in Hong Kong.

It was also alleged that Poy, who plays Nick Cheung's wife in love with Louis Koo's character in the movie, has broken up with her boyfriend of five years because of Louis.

However, according to Sina website, the Thai beauty has recently dismissed the rumours.

While she admitted to have broken up with her boyfriend whom she reportedly planned to marry previously, she stressed that Louis had nothing to do with it.

Poy stated, "Louis treats me like a younger sister and I don't think he has ever tried to pursue me. Don't involve him in this. I don't want to ruin his reputation."
